A good hard case like the Agent18 or Aluminum ones from ebay are useful - they'll keep your player from getting dents from drops and from getting crushed. I think Apple Store sells Agent18s in-store for around 20 bucks.

Just a piece of plastic...but it'll all depends on how much room it takes and if it'll get in the waye
Btw...how did the SeaSonicS12-500w fit into the Praetorian? I was thinking about the same combo, and heard...
Compusa has something like that too. Can't recall brand or name of the switchbox. Soundcard goes straight to the switchbox, and then you plug speakers and headphones into the switchbox. Press the button on the switchbox to alternate between phones/speakers. Was <$10 iirc.
Using Pocket Amp 2 by electric-avenues, I remember the e2c didn't improve noticeably but the HD212 seemed to. I think the 212s sounded a little less muffed in the midrange, but that's recalling from months ago. If you have the cash, Mister X makes beautiful amps but your current headphones are...
If amps aren't your thing, I'd go for Audio Technica ATH-a500 which will run $110ish shipped off Audiocubes. Very efficient and all-around performer, great for games.
look for towel stands and banana stands
linens and things / bed bath and beyond carry some
I've had some luck finding nice metal stands for about $5-8 at Ross (the clothing store)
If it's the jack that's failing, you should look into a loose adapter like this: http://shop.sennheiserusa.com/retail2002/ProductDetails.aspx?direct_cat=Parts&direct_prod=092595
which will reduce the strain
Upgrade to SS 3.2 - I had similar conversion to Atrac issues with 3.1
Some tracks just didn't convert and Windows would lock up. After I upgraded to 3.2 no more probs.

I have the silver + black key executive version. I'm glad I chose it over the see-thru keys one - it's too frickin bright imo, and I don't even look down at the board so it becomes more of a distraction. :) - My one gripe is that the board starts up fully lit by default. You have to manually...
Some will also claim huge improvement with certain amp/headphone combinations. IME you must take everything with a grain of salt until you audition and experience it yourself. I'm not the most critical listener in the world, and I've found some claims to be way overblown. In short, if it sounds...
Dude, you're diabolical.
I started with [H], got interested in some audio stuff...now I rarely visit here and I've spent more on audio than I would have on a new computer :D
In general, avoid the using the headphone out of a speaker receiver. It can often distort sound, which is what has probably happening in this case. Keep the sound clean, get it straight from the Audigy.
I'd also go with the HD485 for the fabric padding. The HD280s can clamp pretty hard, in fact they are one of the best isolating (if not the best) closed full-sized headphones.
HD280s are more analytical, and don't have a big amount of groovy bass. HD485 leans more towards that direction.
