Am I the only one not caring about new phones anymore?

Finally got a new phone, main thing was my trip to Japan coming up, and the iPhone 11, well it was still working fine, but the lightning port was starting to get a little flakey, so , now I got a new phone for the next 3-5 years hopefully

Then I'm stuck carrying around a power bank and an older phone that I still need to plug in and and charge all the time. The $15 per month for a yearly upgrade nets me a phone that normally costs $1100 each year, so it's not like it's going toward nothing. It's like a lease. Is it the most cost-effective thing in the world? No. But it's the equivalent of a single fast food combo meal each month. I can afford that for the peace of mind/convenience alone.
