World of Warcraft Forever

What's the over/under on being able to play this with a 10-month old baby? I've never seriously gotten into WoW, but I'll play for a month or two every few years.

When Forever launches in November, do they wipe everything in the beta, and you start fresh again? Beta characters don't transfer over?

This is an interesting idea, bringing in new classes to Forever, they're talking maybe Demon Hunters and Death Knights, but even cooler is bringing in NEW classes never in World of Warcraft yet, classes that were on the drawing board back in the day when they were first creating WoW but never made it into the game.

A very common theme I'm reading about Forever is long time WoW players that stopped playing the game years ago, and now came back to the beta and are loving it for being a more casual chill and fun experience to play along with old friends and meet new people in the World. So many of these old school players keep saying; "I love the journey, not the destination" They don't care about end game and maxing their gear and getting into Raids, they like exploring Duskwood with a buddy together instead, and finding treasures, and leveling up together at a casual slower pace etc..

Heck my own 2 older Brothers are those people, they stopped playing around TBC years ago, because they just did not get into or care about end game stuff whatsoever and gearing up their max level characters, to them that was just a waste of time and killed their joy, they much preferred just exploring and running around the zones leveling up and seeing new stuff, etc... My Brothers would always laugh at me for being into end game content and gearing up, they were like WTF that's such a waste of time, to play the same dungeons on rinse and repeat hoping for one new piece of gear, or playing the same Raid week after week for months, they were like yawn zzz...BORING hard pass for them. They called it World-Of-Carrot-On-A-Stick-Craft. And so many players in the beta have the same attitude as my Brothers do, they much prefer this journey not the destination part of the game, exploring the open world and meeting new people and grouping up on quests together.

So my question is, how will Blizzard handle this? Once Forever goes live will there be the typical rush to level 60 to get to max level and end game content and just become retail WoW again? I've already scene YouTube videos from "Dad Gamers" already worrying Blizz is gonna leave these casuals behind, they're unhappy the Raid release is just 5 weeks after launch, they want the Raids released like months later, they want the game to focus on the journey and the open world, and push end game content to the back burner. So this casual crowd is worried Blizzard will just get on the raid or die cycle after launch and forget about the casuals.

Here's a great channel about this stuff. His description "WoW Forever's first raid tier — Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia's Lair — opens December 9th, just 5 weeks after the November 4th launch. I've gotten more messages about this one topic than anything else on the channel, so let's talk about why that timeline has a lot of us with jobs, kids, and limited playtime worried, and what Season of Discovery already taught us about slowing leveling down.
"
This channel is for dads who love WoW but don't have 40 hours a week to play it. WoW Forever is the main focus around here through launch and beyond.

Wild how this game made MMOs mainstream and became a cultural phenomenon beyond just hardcore gamers. I recognize Onyxia from that one video despite never having played or cared about this. 50dkp minus for me I guess.

They also rolled out age verification to use social features.

so if they keep adding content, does that mean the two continents will get bigger in size with more unique zones?

I forgot how annoying escort quests are, and how buggy they can be. Did one in a group. It didn't give me credit. Go to do it again, it shifts what server I'm on and now won't let me finish it without abandoning the quest................................................................................................................................................... And because it's an escort quest that everyone needs to do, and only 1 npc......................................................................................fml.

If I'm reading that right, the options are ID, credit card, or email? Seems like email would make it fairly easy to circumvent.
I used it before, at first I thought it was simply going to check the age of my GMail account to figure out I'm over 18. But no, they actually scan some online database with your email to see what other sites you've used that could verify your age.
Most sites don't use it because it's not... reliable.

That’s what MS did for my Xbox account since the account is more than 18 years old so they sent me a message that due to the account being X years old a check was not required. The account uses a hotmail account that I think I might have made around 1996.

Had to put it in a CC for Blizzard even though the account is probably 25+ years old. Though I think at some point I merged 2 accounts (Opposing faction alt account to trade between the factions ) . But the 2nd account would be 21 years old.

Steam hasn’t bothered me yet but they have one of my cards on file.

Just go horde?

With the way they're patching things, the racial traits will end up being much better than alliance again. I'm still undecided.
