Baldurs Gate 3 - Official Discussion Thread (2019)

Enjoyed this game. That said, the characterization that is is a TC of Divinity Original Sin 2 is fully accurate. I could tolerate that since I liked the D:OS games a lot, but I would have preferred it felt less like a clone.

Some pretty glaring bugs, too. Maybe they got patched, but attempting a tactical jump, then clipping through the roof and falling through the floor to your death during battle was pretty stupid.

Having everything under the sun try to fuck you was also pretty lame.

Yeah, I would have preferred that jump bug got fixed at some point. That one fight in the House of Hope I always have multiple saves because of jump headbonks on the ceiling.

I finally got the game for me and my daughter while it was on sale. I got her into D&D, and since she likes D&D, asked if she might like to try it. We played about 4 hours, and she just wants to keep playing. We're both enjoying it so far.

I'm curious is she like a 6 year old or a 20 year old? At what age doe they begin to enjoy d&d ?

When i played d&d i got turned into a mist for kicking a minor god in the knee after he insulted me :(

Started when she was 6, then she got into it more with her cousins at 11, friends at 12, now she's 13.

Got my wife to play D&D (aka Pathfinder v2 and BG3 as well) but not my kids as yet.

Just started it myself a few days ago. Looks good so far, but it feels like another Divinity game not Baldurs Gate. Guess it's the more colourful, cartoony console style that breaks the illusion.
But I loved the previous Divinity games so I'm sure I will enjoy this too.

BG3 is still one of my favorite games ever. Im 50% done on my "Dark Urge" semi-evil playthrough with honor mode turned on.

Well, when I get ready for yet another playthrough in a few years, I'll be sure to try this out or whatever mods are out by then.

Still, licensed DLC seemed like free money printing, I don't understand why they didn't do it, other than vague disputes between Larian and Woke of the Coast.

My guess is they were pretty pissed the team at woc that worked with them was laid off after bg3 success (which made woc a LOT of money); so they decided to give woc the finger.
