I was playing UT2003 and I joined in 2003. What games were you playing when you joined? And when did you join?

I've been here for 23 years!!! Where has the time gone....I'll still be rocking NWA and playing pc games when I am 95.
 
reg'd in late 97/early 98. was playing quake 2, C&C, gta, virtua fighter 2, nfs, nhl 98 and many others.
 
my join date says October 2004...so I was definitely playing Doom 3
 
I was regged in 99/2000 but lost my original account in the purge. I was playing UT 99 and everquest :D.
 
My join date shows 2008, though I mostly lurked in those early years. 2008 would've been around the same time I started playing Fallen Empire: Legions - great game, a spiritual successor to the Tribes series made using the Torque Engine (iirc its name correctly) which was a upgraded Tribes 2 engine. Or something along those lines.

I'm also pretty sure I had signed up for Hardforum earlier than 2008 - I could've sworn I had to sign up using an old ISP e-mail address at some point. Not that it mattered, this forum was almost as intimidating as Tribalwar or the Somethingawful forums to a young Seymour, so I would've never posted.
 
Lurked from 2000 to 2003. Was playing / creating maps for Delta Force Land Warrior with the SabreTyphoon family back then. Also UT99, UT2003, and many others.
 
Looks like I joined in 2004. I think I was looking for feedback/advice on a new monitor and [H] was a place I knew of, but never signed up for. Game-wise, I would have been playing HL2, UT2003, Neverwinter Nights, and Far Cry. I owned Doom 3, but I didn't really like it that much.
 
Early 2014, so probably Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. Was reading the site since the late '90s, though.
 
Joined before the purge, lurked for a bit and then rejoined later in '08. Probably played a Baldurs Gate 2 game when I originally joined. Definitely Diablo 2, American McGee’s Alice, and Counter Strike as well
 
15-16 years on my end. Who knows back in 2011. When did Skyrim come out? If 2011 then probably that. Played the hell out of that game, vanill and ater modded. Bethesda's last moment of greatness. Maybe X3 space sim too, though i never could get the hang of those games.
 
Pretty sure my old account was around 05, i was most likely looking for info about a new graphics card for HL2.

I was playing that, C+C generals and Call of duty.

I made an account in 1999 and made a few cringe posts because I was a teenager. Probably for the best those don't exist anymore.
I would have been playing StarCraft: Brood War and the original Counter-Strike at the time.

Then years later I couldn't find my account so I made this one. I was playing StarCraft 2 back then, but I think I joined to talk about Planetside 2.
 
2008 but I used to lurk before that I think when the site had all the peeps names on the bottom who were logged in.

EverQuest 2 built my first PC in 2003 with my brothers help that year. I couldn't play the game until I aded another stick of Ram doubled a 512 Corsair Value select.

www.comicon.com was sold out used to have forums used to invade other forums like www.Spawn.com or www.models.com one of the guys who who invaded McFarlane forums died a few years later in 911 he was a teacher.www.tcj.com got rid of their forums started a few fanzines and Comics with those people. I just wanted a place to hang out I found Reddit and Facebook good places Reddit crowd is pretty tough what do you expect from a site that doubles as a porn site.

Diablo 2, CS 1.6 / Source, and Warcraft 3 mods like Dota and Enfo's TD most likely. My first account was lost somehow, first joined a year or two before this one.
 
I joined in 2012, when I was desperately trying to find a firmware update for a SAS controller and I found a thread here where someone mentioned they had said firmware.

I haven't started posting regularly until a few years later, probably after the forum I had 30k posts on closed down in 2018.

Probably Morrowind on my old account, maybe was about to get Oblivion as I looked to build my first computer for it (or maybe it was still a little more Morrowind first).
 
I joined at the urging of a coworker and through [H] shortly thereafter got into an open beta for a game I'd never really heard of that took over years of my life (World of Warcraft).

I joined in March this year, and at the time I was playing Baldur’s Gate 3. So I’m still very new here compared to most of you. 23 years on a forum is honestly wild.
 
Joined [H] in April 2016. Most likely was replaying the Mass Effect trilogy.

10 years went by awfully fast.

Completely forgot about F.E.A.R, such a good game.

Was going through some of my physical game copies and Farcry was another game I spent a lot of time researching cards for.

Yeah, I pretty much bought a 6800GT for Far Cry. If I remember correctly, it was eVGAs first video card after they did their restructuring/rebranding to a more consumer friendly and gamer focused company. Before that they were more like PNY to where you only bought their cards if it was your last and only option.

Yep, I considered EVGA bottom of the barrel Best Buy crap right next to PNY back then.
 
I officially joined in early 2002, but I lurked well before that.
 
I joined in late 2012, but likely lurked around before then. I was mostly hanging out at Overclockersclub and Overclock.net before then. I then took a pretty big hiatus from 2013 to 2024. I was still rocking an i7-3930K and GTX 1080 Ti when I finally upgraded to a RTX 3070, and eventually an i5-13600K. My first i5-13600K cost me $150 because the whole microcode issue had people not wanting them. My guess was that it was largely affecting the i9-13900K/14900K's, with a few i7-13700K/14700K's, and not really the i5-13600K/14600K's, and I think it was a good guess.

I probably didn't start really commenting or posting threads until I upgraded, since I had a lot of catching up to do. Ten generations of Intel CPU's had passed, and AMD took the CPU gaming crown.

I was likely mostly playing League of Legends (PC), and Clash of Clans (Android) back in late 2012.
 
Probably Day of Defeat or Counter-strike 1.6. And then I mostly lurked for a long time before and after since I posted more in overclockers.com.au or overclock.net. OCAU isn't as busy as it used to be and overclock.net died when it was sold years ago.

I usually have several games on the go. Back then would have been playing quake 2, half-life, TFC, diablo and StarCraft primarily.

Lots of other single player games too. Only thing different now is I generally don't bother with multiplayer much.

There was a database crash sometime in the early aughts.
 
I joined in September 2005. I was playing Battlefield 2 at the time and loving it. I had an FX 5500 AGP video card that was barely cutting it. I came [H]ere to use the FS/FT subforum and I got a used 6800 Ultra AGP video card. Holy shit did that make a difference. I could run BF2 at max settings and still had noticeably more FPS than playing at medium settings wtih my FX 5500.
