Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Deleted after 10 minutes. Same hyper bunny hopping spray and pray bullshit as every other CoD game released in the last 10 years. How do people not get bored of this shit being regurgitated year in year out.

It is a good bit faster than MW19 and MW2 (2022). I liked those games for their faults, it seems like MW19 really tried to advance the series a bit. But CoD players did not like it and wanted it to be more fast paced and cartoon like. I think the map design in this is a bit lame, I preferred MW19 and MW22. Those at least felt like real places for the most part. Not as fast as MW3 but still too much for my taste. With BF6 I don't see the point for this one.

Its more or less the same game released every year with marginal differences only discernable to regular players. More power to people who like paying for annual releases, but I have too many other better games in backlog to keep me busy.

The actual movement and shooting is a good bit different in MW19 and MWII/2022. It is quite a bit slower. Slow movement and crouching is quite important, and shooting at range is. Especially if you play the hardcore modes. In some ways the movement and shooting was more realistic than some realistic games that exaggerate recoil or have odd movement on steps. But it still had some sliding and whatnot. The other CoD games are notably faster paced and have much more emphasis on jumping/bunny hopping. But that is why those games were so divisive and IW seems to be trying to go back to a faster pace to appeal the typical gamer.

It is kind of a shame. Even most realistic games feel odd when shooting pistols, MW19/MWII 2022 are some of the few games that make it seem authentic. Was a bit disappointed with how BF6 orients the pistols. You could tell the IW devs wanted to make something better but were confined within their IP and need to sell millions upon millions of copies to the typical gamer.

Lucky for me, I'll skip this one. BF6 should stay alive for a long time. I'll look into Hell Let Loose Vietnam but the reception on that seems mixed.

Rage quit much?

he was always going to hate the game...he made up his mind as soon as the game was announced...he never plays games anywhere near release so I highly doubt he bought it...he only buys games when they're under $10 (Aus currency) or free Epic Store giveaways...there was a free demo this weekend so maybe he played that

After the flaming trash heaps of the last 2 games.... I'll wait and see what the full release looks like.

Modern Warfare 4 centers around a rapidly escalating global conflict on the Korean Peninsula, where a full-scale invasion of South Korea threatens to destabilize the world...Infinity Ward says the game will deliver a more grounded and authentic tone, with the story focused on political tension, covert operations, and international warfare

The campaign follows multiple perspectives throughout the conflict, including Private Park, a young Korean soldier thrust into combat for the first time...meanwhile, longtime franchise icon Captain Price returns in a very different role...rather than operating alongside Task Force 141, Price forms a rogue alliance and works outside official channels as the crisis spirals toward global war

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2

The Korean Peninsula setting actually has me interested. It feels like a good fit for the more grounded Modern Warfare style, and playing part of the campaign from a South Korean soldier’s perspective could be something genuinely different. Price going rogue also sounds promising if they give that storyline enough room to develop.
