be honest: "worried i will break them" ;)
With Maxwells, I can tell you from experience that it's the opposite. I never really did anything too extreme with them, but they developed crackling over time. Now, Maxwells might be among the cheaper planars that they have, so they driver is probably among the thinnest and least durable. Thankfully, Audeze still gave me an RMA well outside of my warranty, so I was made good though. This second pair is kind of babied. I only use it around the house.

The MG20's are my "take them everywhere" headset. Had to use some super glue to repair some spots in them from all the use they get, but damn are they still great. Love these things. Need to look into replacing the batteries on them, but am kind of scared of just putting random LI off the internet next to my ears.

Does anybody have a good drawing or diagram about the layout of planar headphones?

I can't visualize what exactly that is doing.

I'm surprised you ranked Maxwell 2's higher than Maxwell 1's. From most accounts I've red, acoustically the M2's are generally worse. They put in most of the engineering into making them last longer, not sound quality, so the bass for instance is much worse (or so I've read).

I hated the Maxwell 1. Maxwell 2 bass is tight, clarity is through the roof, and responds really well to EQ. Also creates a bigger sense of stage and layering which is very important to me. The slam tech also provides a clean fast planar bass.
I think most people who tried Maxwell 2 either had QC issues or just heard bass for an hour and two and said oh no it has less bass = bad. Maxwell 1 bass was wooden and timbre was exceptionally poor to my ears. Maxwell 2 bass is proper.

I used to run Shure SE846 IEMs but the tippy top and low end is pretty mediocre. I upgraded to the Sennhieser IE600s because I heard great things about them but the fit sucks donkey balls, you know what that means for IEMs. I ordered a bunch of Spinfit double flange eartips to try and they are incredible, definitely recomended.

Over like no way it costs that much!!!! (Looks it up) okay I guess it does haha.

Great work by the way! This is appreciated so much!

So do the 480 Pro close backs sound like typical Sennheiser Headphones? The reviews are pretty Amazing on Amazon it had 4.9 for a while but someone downvoted it now they are at 4.8.

I am thoroughly enjoying mine. It also takes bass EQ very well. I just love the sound coming off of it.
My Top Pro also arrived so tonight will be trying it out.

Got myself a Philphone. One of the best cans I have heard.

List updated with a few more headphones and IEMs.
Today or tomorrow my Monolith also arrives. Currently testing Momentum 4 and it is surprisingly great for a cheap headset. I paid about 170$ for an open box.

Created a system with individual PEQ for both IEMs so I don’t need to swap EQs and can listen stress free.
