Ken Levine Himself

I thought we already had a thread for this game, but I can't find it?

It's Levine, not Levin.

There it is. Nuked.

We did until we didn't. Certain people kept derailing the thread with projections rather than talking about the game.

Anyway, I'll post the same basic info: Ken himself says that the game doesn't share any relationship to System Shock or Bioshock. And has emphatically stated that it is "not Bioshock in Space".
From watching all the currently available promotional content: it's going to be another robot slavery/revolutionary story. Perhaps akin to Detroit, but in an FPS type game. There is no gameplay info really.

This definitely has to be locked on my radar somewhere. I've been wondering what he has been up to. It's been too long.

this looks epic...has elements of Bioshock but also looks very original and unique...these are the types of games we need more of

Bioshock in space. I am fine with that. Although it looks like a timed exclusive. With luck it will only be a timed exclusive on consoles and will come to PC day 1.

Atomic Heart is supposed to have BioShock vibes and quite frankly I was underwhelmed.

When I think of ken Levine I can't help but think of tribes : vengeance :/

It's not exclusive at all. It's already been announced that it's coming to Xbox and PC, along with the PS5. The only reason that trailer doesn't mention other platforms is because it was shown off during a Sony State of Play stream.

Visually, it looks like an evolution of Bioshock Inifinite. Which I think is a good thing. Colorful and smooth.

There also seems to be a bit of a manic character to the game, which has me intrigued.

Lost most interest as well. Not really into the whole die, repeat 2 hours of similar gameplay. I assume it will be more like Returnal. The problem with that is you can't even save your progress or shut down the game without it resetting progress. I can't stand games that more or less force you to keep playing or punish you.

sounds very ambitious and unique...I'm totally in...we need more games that try to be different rather than copycats...a AAA, procedurally generated, narrative driven, first person shooter with rogue like elements

is that what Returnal is?...I still want to play that game
Returnal isn't procedurally generated, I don't think. It's more like Diablo in that they have pre-generated rooms that are just randomly stitched together.

The "when it's done" days seem to be over. Feels like the longer the development for a game lasts, the more likely it's going to die on the vine or have a major flaw they were never able to overcome.
Either way, it isn't the kind of game I really wanted anyway. Roguelikes can go the way of the dodo as far as I'm concerned. Give me that rumored 4th Bioshock instead.

Playing the original Bioshock on my led Samung projector was fun. Back in 2010.

I had this game on my Wishlist since 2022.
The Rent a Deputy seems kooky but I bet it costs In game currency to activate him. Ken Levine Is one of the few developers who doesn't disapoint.

So maybe we see this by 2030?
Well it's hard to make a game when the "game design first" project lead Ken Levine didn't even know what the game would be when he pitched the idea, so his team are probably making it up as they go and trying to navigate around Levine's notorious indecisiveness as a project lead.

Ghost Story Games was founded in 2017 to develop this particular game. It's been 9 years and counting. How does Take Two Interactive fund the cost of 33 employees for over a decade with nothing to show for it so far?

I think they changed the story/gameplay...lots of games get changed or overhauled from when they were first announced
