They should let you write the storyline
Yeah you could have the the Android Girl get all twisted about how these werid Monsters look saying stuff like "That is Gross" It could be funny as hell. Or have her turn into an actual girl with somekinda organic impant biomass.

It's so exhausting we can't even have a story-driven game these days without some "journalists" or terminally-online groups finding something problematic about everything.
These people are degenerate retards projecting their own fetishes and insecurities. No one seemed to have a problem with thematic paternalism in games like God of War, The Last of Us and The Witcher 3, but suddenly there is an issue here? Utterly fucking stupid nonsense from increasingly irrelevant DEI nutters which is only going to improve sales thanks to the Streisand effect.

It represents a threat to their worldview.

Also, it looks like a fun game, and that's basically illegal.

I picked this up. Is there any way to avoid everything being just...kinda blurry? Even with DLAA it still seems like there's a bit of smudge on the lens.

Just tried the demo, there's an option near the bottom of the graphics section called simething like Lens affect, click once left to remove chromatic aberration but leave the rest of the effect on, or turn it off, but I noticed weird arfticats on windows with it off.

On another note, are you PC players choosing to use a gamepad for this one? I found the PC mouse WASD setup to be overly fiddly, even with a mouse with loads of extra buttons on it. It feels like it was designed solely around a control pad. Thoughts?

yes, it was designed for a pad. they just added more options/settings for m/kb. may have confused that with something else... but yes, designed gamepad.

I'm using mouse and keyboard and so far it seems fine. I'd rather have the more precise aim.

Wait… what?

People who like this game are pedophiles? Including female gamers - or do they somehow get a pass?

What kind of mental gymnastics will be performed here?

Can we keep this shit out of the Soapbox please?

I've been enjoying it, just got to the Terra dome. Doesn't seem like an overly long game, but there is incentive to go back and replay past levels to find secrets and upgrade material.

I played the demo (always kudos) and I like it. There is a little bit of a learning curve to get the hack/shooting timing combat down but overall I could see buying it on sale down the road. The "too short" of about 8 hours is wall to wall everywhere I go.

Started the demo, I'm only a few minutes in, maxed out the settings at 1080p on my sTeAm MaChInE without issue so far. Manages to hold 60fps, and I've only seen dips to 56~.

97% positive on Steam? I thought it was a Typo must be a new record. I might buy the regular edition off loaded. Price is still 50.00 maybe Mike will buy it for me.

the demo was good, ran great too, but im not paying that much for an 8-10hr game...

Do all the side content, should take around 15-16 hours. I've yet to play it, but that is what average polling on How Long to Beat is showing. It tends to be on the mark for me, though I tend to take a bit more time as I find myself being quite thorough with side quests and reading everything I stumble across in games. I know there are people that complain games are too short because they skip all the side quests, skip all dialogue options, skip cut scenes, don't bother to upgrade their characters, don't read any in game lore, etc. but they also complain that a game like Fallout 3/4 can be finished in 20 or so hours despite having 70-100 hours of content.

Been chipping away at this, the difficulty sort of ramps up pretty quickly as you get further into the game. Some "common" enemies are pretty spongy and annoying to deal with.

Speaking of difficulty spikes, the TerraDome boss is kicking my ass. Super fun that it can just juggle you until you die.

The only gameplay flaw I would probably criticize (again just from the demo) is there is almost no way the player isn't going to take needless cheapshots when trying to hack, fight, and move at the same time.

Logically I would expect that to get harder in the full game as some of you have stated and knowing myself well enough that's a recipe for me to start smashing things. ;)

Is that a fair take or is it better than that?

you lear to run away to a safe distance to hack. seemed ok to me.

As you go on, it gets harder in that the enemies are faster and require you to actively dodge, as well as the hacking grids being larger and containing more "mines" that can cause the hacks to fail.

One thing I find fairly pointless is the notion of shooting an enemy while mid-hack, which can give bonus damage depending on your chosen hacking "mode". But I've almost never found an instance where I can be hacking and accurately shooting an enemy at the same time.

First impressions this is just an Ai simulation to make you bow down to expensive Ram and Jensen. It has that tight Asian feel to it unlike Euro or Western game but I just got out of the shelter and fought a few guys. Playing on Normal seems pretty easy so far but not every game has to be Crimson Desert Nexus puzzles.

Someone should make a mod where a 2nd player will do the hacking while the main character can just shoot and maneuver around.

You get an auto-hack function later that uses the hacking gauge, but it's fairly slow. Possibly could be better if fully upgraded.

I'm probably at least 80% through the game and I'm just now realizing I should have been doing the Cabin challenges for the rewards. I only did tic-tac-toe, I didn't look into the challenges, so I didn't notice that the challenge rewards were upgrade materials.

Yeah you can get a lot of cabin coins, upgrade modules and Lim from the challenges. Some of them are pretty annoyingly hard, but a lot of them are easy to at least get two of the three rewards per.

Possibly easier with a controller?
