3600 Build, looking for ITX board

Looking to build two rigs around Black Friday, I really don't want to have to go through the hassle of the BIOS updating issue. I keep seeing B550 boards but I have no idea when they are coming out or price.

Is there currently a good value ITX mobo out there that will handle Ryzen 3600?

There's only a few X570 itx boards released so far and they're all over $200.
If you're not building until Nov/Dec, you should wait and do research then.

I just built a comp for a colleague and used the MSI B450M Gaming Plus and a Ryzen 5 3600X. The flash was super easy and didn't have any problems. The computer works great so far.

I wouldn't hesitate using a B450 chipset.

Cross-check the motherboard using this Google sheet:

B550 in 2020. So assuming you MUST be on ITX and need to build soon, your only options are:

1. B450/X470 and deal with the BIOS updating issue on initial boot (or go to a brick and mortar store and have them update the BIOS for you)
2. X570

Or find a bios that doesn't require CPU to flash... Then it doesn't matter where you get it from. Some MSI boards support flashback, which does not require a cpu, not sure of others. Otherwise brick and mortar, or (my b450 ASRock board says 3000 series ready when bought, so I don't have to update bios), or find someone with a cpu locally willing to help.

None of the B450/X470 ITX boards come with the flashback.

You're right though. Brick and mortar is the way to go in this case assuming OP doesn't want an X570

AMD will still ship out a low end APU to flash your BIOS with, but buying at a microcenter or the like will be easier and faster (plus Microcenter Motherboard/CPU combos are good deals). Unfortunately, there only seems to be 2 ITX motherboards that are guaranteed to be Zen2 ready out of the box, and they are both X570 and $200+.

Correction, there is this one:
https://www.newegg.com/asrock-fatal...470 itx&cm_re=x470_itx-_-13-157-837-_-Product

but you're essentially paying $150 compared to the $100 B450 version (that doesn't have the updated bios), and there doesn't seem to be much difference.

IIRC correctly Micro Center went through and BIOS flashed their B450 boards to support the 3000 series. They should have a sticker on the box that says "AMD 3000 Series Ready" or somesuch.

I'm using a 3700X on the MSI B450 Gaming AC board. Works great paired with 32GB 3200mhz DDR4.

My b450 itx box had this sticker and it was from micro center.

Picked up a 3700X + ASRock B450 Fatal1ty ITX/AC board from Micro Center (Tustin) this past August and went the bootkit route. My board shipped with a BIOS that was 1 version before the Ryzen 3000 microcodes were added. I submitted my request for the bootkit on Saturday, and had the loaner Athlon 200GE APU on my doorstep on Thursday. AMD will want a few photos of the board displaying the board's make and model, as well as photos of proof of purchase, and an explanation why the board manufacturer/retailer couldn't help you with this. I just stated that the board manufacturer (ASRock) doesn't have a USB BIOS flash back feature for my board, my board shipped with an older BIOS (photo of BIOS version sticker on the board), and that the retailer charges $35 (basically 70% of the board's price) to flash it, and they accepted my bootkit request.

I'd definitely go with the $5 A6 9500 APU if I had the same opportunity.

Micro Center in Tustin said they used to do it for free, but now they charge $35 over at the customer service counter, IIRC.

Sorry, sold out probably within minutes after I posted, lol. Hopefully someone got one or two.
