Yeah, the original NES version of the TMNT arcade game was pretty meh after playing the arcade game. Turtles in Time on the SNES was a much closer representation of the arcade experience.

I still played the shit out of that game with my sister when we were kids.

Yeah, SNES Turtles game was probably one of the best console arcade ports of that entire generation. While different, Hyperstone Heist on Genesis was a great game too. Far better than most Genesis games for graphics, music, animation, controls, responsiveness etc.
