Download the demo. It is so good! Never been so excited to play a demo! Early Access game.

Can get a DRM free version from the Humble Store. Comes with a Steam key according to the page.

Article discussing the negative effects of piracy when a prealpha version was leaked and pirates complained about it being buggy; limiting the game's exposure. They are contemplating uploading a proper version to The Pirate Bay to get more word of mouth about the game out there.

Long live Twin Stick Shooters!

Today they added in their 8th playable character named Peanut and the 4th boss named Venom. Venom is not close to being finished and they are asking the community for ideas to add to the fight. Meanwhile I found this old video of a typical level in the game. Thought you'll might like it. ;)

I still think this is one of the best games in my Steam library. Everyone should try the demo on the Steam page. It's on the right.

Nice! I hadn't seen this one yet. It's on my wishlist now. I love twin-stick shooters. Still play the hell out of Robotron 2084 even.

It's been updated to have a new game plus mode. It is currently on sale on Steam for $7.49. The developers announced that the game is also getting a price increase to reflect all the years of updates and content that has been added to the game over the years. Of course those who purchased the game before will get all of the content for free.

I have to give them credit for updating the title, even after all this time. The game is a nice example of its genre with good content and I feel that overall the dev has been player-friendly from an ethical standapoint. They released on Mac and Linux from the start AND the recent updated version maintains that support! The recent "Plus" update comes from the fact that they ported the title to the Switch with some improvements., Many developers, even AAA devs (I'm looking at you Square Enix, for Dragon Quest XI on PC unknown if it will be getting the updates from the "S" version coming to Switch), don't do that so I have to give them credit for doing so.

If you enjoy dual stick shooters is wroth a play certainly, especially at the current discounted price!@

Bummer, I guess I missed the sale.

Though I think I'd prefer this on the Switch anyway.

I still need to get this. I was playing Nex Machina for a while. (Recommended for people into twin stick...) I forgot about this. I still play a hell of a lot of Robotron on my MAME setup though. :D

Well, the big change for the Switch Version of DQXI is the addition of Japanese Voice Acting. Which, wasn't even included in the original Japanese release.

I'd still kill for Square to include the 3DS version.

That's one feature and a pretty big one, but there's a LOT more to it than that - https://www.siliconera.com/2019/03/...ory-and-more-in-its-new-batch-of-screenshots/ - It even includes the previously 3DS exclusive "2D Mode" option! Choices of orchestral soundtrack or existing options, Japanese / English / "No" voice over choice, party members on the map, and perhaps most importantly character interactions in and out of battle, plus just plain additional content (including backstory for characters etc).

Given that kind of upgrade is basically a full "enhanced edition" update of the game, I'll be very frustrated if they don't bring all of it officially to PC. Apparently they're still deciding what they'll do, so I figure lobbying on this point is important.

Fair enough. Wasn't aware they were going THAT far with it. I'd pay for the upgrade.
