Destiny 2

So... a couple things to add to the thread.

I got Riskrunner very early in the game. Thought I had missed the catalyst somewhere. It FINALLY dropped. I love this weapon in PvE. Fucking hilarious. The catalyst don't make a bit of difference but my ocd is satisfied.

My in-laws showed up with a PS4 for my 12 year old. I have the PS4 version so I found a copy of PS4 Destiny 2 for 7.50 at Best Buy and used the 60-70% off sale on PSN to get all of the addons and season pass.
I am now going to start the process of turning my 12 year old (who is a god in PC Fortnight and Overwatch… no shit he's legit... plays some console as well and is pretty good with a controller) into an extremely useful fireteam member. :)

Going to be a fun weekend. Just noticed the Crimson season and that's perfect for us 2 man team.,

riskrunner is my absolute fav weapon for that event in the Dreaming city where you have to defend that statue, or beacon or whatever it is. You just mow down wave after wave of adds single handed.
 
I managed to get the 650 bow, nearing the 600 light lvl, also done a decent part of the breackneck gun, still need to do a lot of matches and some kills to get it.

That may be one of my favorite public events in the entire game. I just like fighting the Scorn a lot. I always tend to stop what I'm doing if I start hearing that familiar materializing sound.

I'll have to see if I have Riskrunner and try this but two other weapons that get heavy/quick results: Ace of Spades and especially when I crouch and go for the precise headshots in crowds and boom! It just wipes a bunch of them.

That along with either my Masterworks Hammerhead or even Thunderlord action. It just racks up destruction fast. It's great.

I unlocked the 650 bow also and used it a bit, but I don't really care for bows so I took that sucker and infused it to my Sunshot. That thing is a beast. I am just over 600 LL myself.
 
Completed the Leviathan (normal) raid for the first time, (my first ever raid in a Destiny game), pretty cool experience. The production quality was top notch, you can tell the raid designers poured a lot of effort and care into designing it (and the additional areas like the Underbelly) - too bad only 15% of the playerbase will get to experience it.

Did it a couple more times right after so I could complete Acrius.

Completed Whisper Heroic with all burns to complete the thousand wings ship, it has a unique design but I don't think it fits the art style of destiny.

Had to forge about 85 pulse frames before I got one with rampage that didn't have a shit secondary roll on it. Finally got one with outlaw/rampage with a rampage spec mod which will have to do for now.

Completed all of the prophecy verses from Brother Vance, and a third page now appears in his inventory where you can buy any of the weapons back.

Most of the Osiris expansion weapons have quite awesome designs, imo they need to update them so that they are actually usable. They look amazing but won't ever get used.

Nice, blast furnace with outlaw/rampage is my fav pulse rifle. I still havent done whisper. I have jumped in a few times solo to practice the jumping part, I'm awfulk even with the shortcuts.
 
I've played alot the last few days and have almost hit the soft cap at 500 light. 498 currently and im lvl 48. I got a bunch of old exotics that i like and need to update but i think i want to start some Raids. I haven't done one yet i guess i will have to join up with some of the guys on discord and start doing what i can to join some raiding parties.
I got this last night, man does this thing rip through guys.

I was off by a day or two to solo grind (usually one or two bounties) for the Crimson Day bow.. left at 90 from the 100 hearts needed.

Bleh.

It can take some time to master. I probably ran it four times before I cleared it. After clearing it, you have to run it again in Heroic mode for the catalyst. Then you have to run it again for chests to finish upgrading the catalyst to fully unlock the weapon's capabilities. It will then take you I think three weeks at least to fully upgrade the thing. After awhile, you get pretty good at it. I've done the mission on both my Hunter and Titan. BTW, while most catalyst upgrades count on all your characters, the lockouts for doing the Whisper catalyst are account wide. I found this out the hard way.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of bonuses any of the year one weapons are really only useful during leveling. Once you get the Forsaken and Black Armory weapons, none of those things are of any value. The only exception to that rule is the Ikelos shotgun.

Midnight Coup will never die. 30k kills on this one and I'll never stop using it. Nothing else compares with its super aim assist for headshots. First gun with the now classic combo of Outlaw/Rampage.

Inaugural Address with its static Outlaw/Killclip is still deadly in the Crucible. Not to mention I'm still killed semi-regularly by Alone as a god. The original Snapshot sniper.

These 3, at least, are still used regularly by many but the rest of it, it ain't worth it. To your point though, since they're static rolls, once you get one, there isn't a reason to keep running that raid.


O and Legend of Acrius! That thing is STUPID good now with its 50% damage increase buff. Still working on my catalyst.

I need to finally get Shattered Throne done to get that mysterious frame quest finally finished. I can't do it alone. Anyone want to try and arrange a meet time with me and we can do it?

I got carried through shattered throne this morning, whoever figured out how to do that place deserves a medal. Managed to knock out the pyramidion before I had to head to work. I'm on at weird hours during the week but I'll help if I can. I'm on at like 1:30 AM for a couple hours then usually on again about 11AM for a couple hours.

Whats everyone Triumph scores? Since i fairly new to Destiny 2 mine sits at 6700. I assume most of you guys are pretty high up there.
 
I really should cycle around to those seals and see if I can get at least one.

I only have Wayfarer but I'm a little Gambit grinding away from Dredgen and a stupid ship away from Cursebreaker.

RNG drops are killing my drive to keep going after that one.

Lol I really do feel like a n00b now....I really need to go through and complete all the adventures on each of the planets. I've been working on the Forsaken content for the last few days. I've taken out 3 of the elders and finally unlocked the prime engrams. Made it to level 50 last night and my Light is 500. So its basically onto the endgame content now.

Since the buff, Acrius doesn't leave me Heavy slot if I can help it. If I can do without the range of literally anything else, i'm using it. Slowly working on the catalyst. Its increases to mag size (2 to 6) and reload speed (over doubled) have me really trying to get it done.

As for the Thousand Wings, I have it equipped on all three characters. Since doing that mission for the first time, its been quite possibly my favorite piece of content in D2 thus far with the Shattered Throne being a close second. Getting that ship was such a great feeling of accomplishment that I don't think I can ever use anything else.

IF i get the Pallas Galliot from Shattered Throne, I think I'm just going to trash it due to the hate of how shitty RNG has been to me with it. I've done 3x runs of Shattered Throne every week since it came out and still haven't got it to drop. Almost don't even care about Cursebreaker anymore.
 
Because i'm constantly impressed with the development work being put in, i'm going to shoutout Braytech.org once again.

Like DIM, its become essential for keeping track of what i'm doing in Destiny. Over all else, the "This Week" tab is incredible for seeing what's available to do that week and if you've already completed it. The new Legend page is a beautiful look at some of your accomplishments as well.

Because of the annoying Guitar errors in Last Wish, we always leave before the heart encounter so those aren't counting as "full clears" so it is counting those as 0 completions which sucks. He's looking to fix that.

This is the "This Week" page which is super helpful.

Finally managed to get the last word and complete the catalyst for the Whisper.
 
I basically have taken a break this week because I'm down to things that I absolutely cannot do solo. I have to shattered throne and then hard pyramidion after that to finish that quest, for example, and so forth. When some of you think you can I'd really appreciate possibly this weekend if your time allows to try and arrange a time with me and help me sweep through these things. I also have to figure out how to use Discord and so forth better but I'd really like to wrap this up before February is done.

I'm gonna be around this weekend playing (grinding out Infamy for Dregen) so don't hesitate to ping me if you see me on. I'm sure I can scrounge up a 3rd for a quick shattered throne run/Nightfall/Whisper run. I just don't think I can commit to a specific time, however.

Whats your tag? I typically don't get online until later at night because of my kids. I still have a few things to complete before im ready for raids but if you ever want to do do some nightfalls/strikes let me know. I usually start playing around 8 pm CST.

No kidding. The thing is a beast if you can land your shots. Three of us whipped out our Whispers and put down the Forge Warden of Bergusa Forge extremely quickly.

I feel like I am so slow at progression when I read this thread lol. Finally got one character to 650 and my hunter to 638. Working on the last word questline right now. I miss the raids (leviathan and EoW) I was able to do during the summer when I have time off.
 
Does anybody here have the ps4 version and can help me do the "mission version" of the strike The Corrupted. I guess the "mission version" is supposed to be able to be completed solo but... maybe I just suck.
It seems identical to the strike version, in fact, even harder. The cave area that I can normally just fly through I get killed every time if I try to bypass it.
I can get to the room, just past the cave, where you throw the balls at the shielded dudes but only the first wave. Once I kill them and the big thing starts spinning in the room.... I can stay alive for a long time but any time I actually try to get the balls to throw at them its instant death.
I have tried at least 100 times. Not kidding. I'm tired and just want this off my list.

Nope, even though some players have solo'd that mission, it's about the same difficulty as a nightfall and designed around a team of three. The circular room with the balls is the elevator, it's the point at which most solo players will get stuck. On both the discords, (link1, link2) there's almost always players grouping up for that mission.
