Hey everyone! I'm just going to preface this. I've been dying for a more portable gaming monitor to take to LAN parties, big events (Quakecon, DreamHack etc), and a second monitor to use while I'm traveling. I've found that it's pretty common for Chinese manufacturers to take excess laptop displays, pair them with a controller board, an external case, and create dual purpose monitors/displays with them. Ever since the market was flooded with 120hz panels (skylake gaming laptops) I've been dying for one of these companies to re-purpose these AUO gaming panels.
Well today, is that day. I stumbled upon one on eBay/Amazon with the price of $297.
Strangely enough, it uses a Dell S2718D controller to handle the display. It also supports HDCP which is great. Let me know if you guys have any questions!
