To power a EVGA GTX 970? My cpu is a i5 4570,250GB Samsung 850 EVO,DVD Burner,Audigy FX Soundcard.16GB DDR3 1680 x 1050 native resolution LCD.The reason I ask is because I was stress testing the card using the Heaven Benchmark and after about 7 min the benchmark stops and back to the desktop.

min recommended is 500w. so maybe not. try a higher watt psu and see.

I know this is a little older but wanted to weigh in since I'm running the same PSU in my system slightly modded. I would recommend a kill-a-watt meter to see what your power draw is pretest running all your stuff. That's not to say you wouldn't benefit from a more powerful and better quality PSU. I've read and been told the CX430 is mehhh in the world of PSU's. Maybe I just got lucky.

CX430 is driving:

ASUS GTX980 @ stock I think
INTEL 4770k @ 4.2Ghz
ASRock Z97E-ITXac
Samsung PM830 256GB
WD 600GB Raptor 10k
MCP355 pump
AeroCool Shark 140mm Red Cooling Fan EN55475 (x2)
Numerous USB things I have plugged in at any given time. Mouse, Keyboard, Headset charging, phone/s, PS3 controller...

The CX series is a steaming pile of garbage. I've had several of them fail due to shit capacitors.

I had a CX450M PSU. While it could handle a dual-core Skylake i3 CPU with no more than a mid-range discrete GPU, it became a little flaky when I upgraded that PC to a Skylake i5 CPU. Things like system not starting up or shutting down properly. It was since replaced with an RM550x.

I've used a couple in low end machines and had no problems. I mean they were like $17AR...what can you expect. I'm looking at one right now I installed 5 years ago for a buddy of mine. Still chugging.

The 500-750W versions has similar prices to other manufacturers on the market, so I expected them to perform like other reputable units.
