Thoughts on the above for $500 right now? Either I suck at searching, or it appears no one is talking about this monitor yet. On paper, it seems like a nice fit, although I have no experience with Monoprice's reputation when it comes to monitors.

I'm currently rocking an old LG 34UM95-P, which I planned to stack as a secondary monitor above it, and use this ultrawide as my new primary (with a pair of portrait 24" on the sides for work).

that's not a bad panel. Probably uses the same VA panel being used on Predator, ROG and AGON screens. I've seen these things in action and they are pretty amazing.

Does it oc to 120 like the others?
Do they offer extended warranties?

I rolled the dice on a Korean 4k screen and was not disappointed, monitors all use a handful of panels, so it's hard to go wrong if you know what panel you're getting into.

I decided to pass based on this:

It's been a LONG TIME since I've used a VA panel. It's definitely a not a panel and not a AHVA. I can literally see color blending across the screen from how massive if it is, I don't even need to move angles.

I haven't used many other UW's, especially for an extended period of time, so I'm going to give this a good run over the next month if I decide to keep it or not.

It's completely basic as far as the entire panel goes. Honestly, I don't really look at the back of monitors, and I know it's not very important, but this is the ugliest back of a monitor I've ever seen. The fact that the mounting screws that they use in production are clearly exposed just seems so cheap to me. Also the screws that you use to assembly the stand are very shiny, not even close to the finish on the stand or monitor. They look like they bought some nice chrome screws from Lowes.

The bottom have of the VESA mount is covered by the monitor stand.

The remote is really convenient, but that's simply because ALL OF THE BUTTON ARE ON THE BACK OF THE MONITOR. The power button is the bottom one and is an okay reach, but using the menu without the remote or reach around the monitor doesn't happen.

Comes in box with an HDMI cable not a display cable. The HDMI would barely push past 60hz, (does HDMI even go past 60hz?) Using a display cable I got 100Hz stock on OCing necessary.

The backlight bleed is very negligible. practically non existent. I took a couple pictures of it, but they're completely out of proportion. The pictures light up like crazy compared to IRL.

1 Display port 3 HDMI Built in speakers. Has PIP and multi window, but haven't test it out yet.

I'm running it on a 1080, so I can't test Freesync. I do have an R9 380 in a mining rig. I can pull that and test if it's compatible? I've never used freesync before, but if it's easy, my card is compatible, and anyone is interested I could do it sometime over this weekend?

Overall I believe the monitor is good for the price, I don't think there's anything that's of similar specs that isn't a VA at the price point. I don't know if I'm just jaded from not having a VA for so long, or if it is really as bad as it seems.

Any other specific questions feel free to ask.

All other issues aside, this monitor is simply too small.

This was gonna be my choice until a Viotek came along under $400 that I couldn't say no to. No regrets so far, but this one will stay on my radar should anything go wrong.
