After nearly five years since its announcement, Square Enix will finally release Kingdom Hearts 3 on January 22, 2019 for the Xbox One and PS4. The latest entry in the action RPG series stars Sora, Donald, and Goofy again, who will explore new Disney-theme worlds such as Monster, Inc. and Toy Story. Fans can expect the return of the gummi ship, updates to magic, and a second playable character.

"We’ve announced the release day for KINGDOM HEARTS III ahead of E3 at the KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World Tour-. I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you," a written statement on Twitter attributed to Nomura explained.
 
I'm bummed it got pushed back to 2019, but at least it finally has an actual date. Easily one of my most anticipated games being made right now.
 
I'll probably be picking up a used xbox or ps4 to play this.

Either that or wait four years for the emulator.

I replayed kh1 last year and I felt it was as good as it was the first time around and enjoyed it just as much.

Kh2 was ok but not as good as the first imo...

Will buy a ps4 for this game

Hmm if you put them on an emulator and upscale the resolution 4-8x it actually stands up quite well.

However now there are other versions on PS3 or PS4 that remake or add bits of content not present in the original PS2 games. That might make a case for you to try them not on PC.

As far as storylines, it helps if you have some familiarity with classic disney movies. Its not needed though.
