So long story short, I have both of these processors. I picked up a 8700k for a good deal, but I don't really feel like my 8400 is holding me back for what I need to do. So I'll let [H] decide which one I keep. Only selling one or the other.

Intel i5-8400 - SOLD
Used CPU, unused HSF. Comes with retail box. Can include a Rajintek 92mm tower cooler that uses stock mounting for $5 extra. I ran it with MCE enabled on a GB Z370 board and it turbos to 3.8Ghz all core.

Intel i7-8700k - KEEPING
BNIB. Still sealed and never installed. Batch #L751D231 (if that matters anymore).

Bump for the interesting way you are selling one or the other. GLWS

Thats kind of funny. I'm running an I5 8400, and it is enough for my needs but I've just felt like getting an 8700k just for no reason at all other than to have it. lol, I just had to post because it's hilarious that someone else did the same thing I have been thinking about for months of doing.

so this i5 8400 (more cores/thread) is better than my i7 6700k?...curiosu cuz im looking to possibly update my main and use my old 6700k system for my ncase

you would want to go to the 8700k to get the benefit of an upgrade. The 6700k is 4 core/8 thread and overclockable the I5 8400 is 6 core/6 thread and locked at a max of 4ghz. An I5 8400 would not be a realistic upgrade from a 6700k, but the 8700k is a nice upgrade.
