First off, a couple disclaimers:
-I am the definition of "casual" user, and this "review" will reflect that. I get to game a couple hours per week if Im lucky, and do basic productivity stuff like the rest of you.
-I am not a photographer. I was incapable of capturing even 1 half decent pic for this review. Sorry.
- This is NOT a monitor to compete with your fancy Predator's etc.
- At work, I use 3 Dell 22" monitors and at home I've had the same crappy 20" HP 1080p for like 5 years, so I wanted something a bit flashy-er.
On to the good stuff-

This is item 18545
Inputs-
1- HDMI
1- DP
1- DVI
There weren't any reviews when I bought it, so I was a guinea pig, I guess.
I paid $279 a month ago, arrived in a couple days.
Packaged very well- the inner foam was inside not 1 but 2 double-wall boxes. No worry of arriving damaged.
1st impressions:
Its beautiful! Why did I wait so long to upgrade to 1440?!? I cant go back to 1080.
Nice aluminum bezel, gloss screen (which I specifically wanted). This monitor looks like something Apple would sell. No ugly buttons, as it uses a joystick on the back, which I had never seen before but is a nice feature. Its a pretty thin monitor. My picture doesn't really capture it, but the caliper says its .387" thick. Around the perimeter of the screen, the bezel is .469" wide.
No dead pixels, that I've seen. Supposedly you can send it back for a new one if you have any dead pixels. They also have a great return policy which was key because I wasnt sure I really wanted a glossy screen.
The stand is pretty good. You do have to buy a $10 adapter if you want VESA compatibility. Tilt up and down, but not height adjustment or side-to side pivot. Im familiar with cheap monitor stands and this seems pretty good to me.
Its plenty bright. I have it turned down to "30".
The colors are very nice- again, Im a nOOb compared to most of you, so I can't give you all sorts of measurements etc. It just looks good.
The large screen size is enough to get 2 full browser windows side-by side. The width is very nice, as Im used to a ton of real-estate at work, and it was always a drag coming home to my tiny 20". It did take an hour or so of getting used to both the size.
I just upgraded from a GT 640 to a 1060 3GB, and I think this monitor is the perfect match. With all settings maxed, I get 100+ FPS in DOTA2, about 55 FPS in Paragon, at least 60 in SWTOR, 50-60 in TERA etc. etc.
Pics:
And compared to the old HP 20", its a substantial upgrade.
Again, I'm not even hinting that this is the perfect monitor for your massive gaming rig:
This was merely an affordable 27" 1440 monitor that was a huge upgrade for me.
Ive gotten a ton of help from this community, so hopeful my meager contributions will be helpful to somebody!
Thanks for reading!
