A platform to put a case on?

Have any of you guys found a place to get one? I basically need a sheet of metal or other solid surface to put my computer on to keep it off of the carpet. One that matches my computer's dimensions as closely as possible (and is as close to the floor as possible) would be best.

I'm currently using a big CD storage case which is roughly the right length and depth... but has way more height than I'd like.

Well, actually, I have a metal mousepad that's exactly the correct dimensions, but that seems like a waste.

Edit:
And I just checked Amazon... They had another of that same mousepad (used) for $16. The pad is the Razer Manticor, and the case is the Fractal Design Core 500. Not bad for an exact match.

But I've also got a Hadron Air with a much smaller footprint, facing the same dilemma. I'm using a small block of particle board there, but I'd love to replace it with a thin metal pad

Pretty sure they have multiple sizes.
Wow, that's nice! See also:

This Universal Monitor Riser Shelf 22" x 8.25" - Cheap at $7.99!

and these:

Multimedia Desktop Stands. Reasonably priced, supports up to 80 lbs, available in two sises and in black or clear glass.

Any of these could solve the OP's problem and without leaving a big rectangular "dent" in the carpet. They may be bigger than the case but they would sure look nice! :)

It does look pretty nice. It should be fine if I use it to put my PC and my speaker amp next to each other.
Right now, I'm using a wall-mounted shelf for the speaker amp (not strong enough for the case...)
I could pretty easily swap it out for one of those.

Oh, and how high up do they go? I have a cable storage box, too, and it'd be nice to tuck it under the stand.

From the Multimedia Desktop Stand that schlitzbull linked to: "This stackable glass shelf provides an additional horizonal surface on which to place a computer monitor, laptop computer, home audio equipment, or anything else that needs a flat surface. The shelf is made of 3/8" plate glass and measures 22" wide and 9.5" deep. The shelf is stabilized with four 1" diameter aluminum legs with a nominal height of 2.75". The feet can be extended up to 1" at each corner, allowing the shelf to perfectly leveled on slightly uneven surfaces. It has a maximum weight capacity of 66 lbs (30 kg)." So I'm guessing roughly 2.5" to 3.5" depending on whether they measured to the bottom of the glass or to the top of the glass. The others that I linked to look about the same height - 2.5" to 3.5" just guesstimating from the images. Give Monoprice a call; I'm sure they will be able to tell you.

Man I wish I had a use for one, the black glass looks really nice! Do my monitors need a lift? Hmmm.....

Pretty sure they have multiple sizes.

Can't beat that. I was thinking of a few Wine Crates bolted together if you're into the rustic look.

I've received quite a few negative comments for this, but it has worked for me for 4 years now with no problems, and hasn't hurt my carpet any.

I just slipped some 2x4's under my case to elevate it off the carpet.
