Seriously....I mean...I....I got nuthin.
Also, when did we add another letter to LGBT? LGBTQ+? Why isn't there a memo for these thing so we know who the latest victims of society are?
I think of myself as progressive, but every time I hear the word Cisgender, I die a little inside.
And WTF, how the hell can the use of the word rape can cause PTSD flashbacks!?!??!?!?!??!?!

It's just a term used to describe the "opposite" of transgender.
I don't think you're as progressive as you think you are.
I know what it means, but I seriously question the need for the term.
Was their confusion that necessitated the creation of this term?
Well, think about it...without the term you just have "not transgender". How many antonyms are just "not <blank>"?
It's just the evolution of language. I don't see the point in getting upset over it. It probably wasn't an issue in the past because the term "transgender" was rarely used or recognized.
For people that don't like being labeled, they sure have a lot of labels. :/
The way many use the word cisgender is a bit messed up. Within the trans community, many people consider themselves women, not transwomen. They are men, not transmen. It's one of those double standards, and yes - there are many transfolk that realize that and are against the SJW 'cisgender' for everyone not like them. It's another way to show a divide. There is no equality when you're purposely trying to divide people and label everyone... Yes, cisgender is the opposite of transgender. You're not going to be diagnosed as cisgender.
I think it's less an issue with labels in general as it is with the correct labels. But...I could be wrong, dunno.
I see it as more of a comparison with "gay" vs "straight". I don't hear a lot of people complain about the term "straight", but it exists so it's not just "not gay".
"Cisgender" exists so you don't just say "not transgender", and also I think it exists to avoid using the term "normal".
I don't get this aversion to using the word "normal"I still had to watch myself from using the term "normal" in my post

The goal should be for everyone to see each other equally
Equality? Bwhahahahaha! That will never happen, nor would you want it to.
Yes, I do. I support true equality among people. Meaning everyone is looked at the same and everyone has to prove themselves on their own merits. There is no division of race, gender, sexuality, whatever. We see each other simply as people. Not as men, women, gay, straight, black, white, brown, Christian, Muslim, whatever. Just other human beings.
Cool, then you know that raise you work so hard to get, or that retirement you worked all these years to accomplish. We're gonna give it to chin dusted joe blow that's fresh outta college, because, after all, he's your equal.
Have a nice day.

I said see each other as people without the need for labels. Where the fuck does Marixism fit into that?
That's how you see what kind of person they are. But, their identity means a lot, too. There may not be a societal division on how people are treated, but that unique label (men, women, gay, straight) still means a lot to them. It doesn't mean they want treated differently, though.
Ah but you can't have equality unless its across the entire spectrum. Therein lies the problem with your equality nonsense.
There will always be people with more power than others. That's simply the nature of society.
Well then there you have it. You just proved my point

That is a beautiful thought but our brains are not hardwired like that.
My wish for equality extends to how we look at each other and how we label each other. The anti-SJW bullshit basically. Where those morons want to create "Safe places" and support segregation I want further mixing of people and races and further breaking down of the barriers between race, gender, etc. I understand it's not likely to happen, but hey at least my wishes are a drive for the improvement of humanity and not trying to bring back the fucking Jim Crow laws.
No we're not. We'll likely never reach that level of equality where in our minds we no longer see race or religion. However, we can train ourselves to treat others as equally human as ourselves, can we not? That is a beautiful thought but our brains are not hardwired like that.
Its a nice dream. But it will never happen. Only in Star Trek. Simple way to end it, just do as Morgan Freeman says,
This isn't the only "ism" it applies to.
