Internet is 100-200MBS Slower through the Router

Just had Wave G service installed and it's 800-900mbps directly in the wall but 600-700mbps through the router.

I have a NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 (R7000) running the latest stock firmware.

Any settings or tweaks or anything I can adjust to get the full speed?
 
That sounds a bit low given the hardware inside that box, disable traffic meter if you have that enabled and reboot the router.
 
Are we talking WIFI or cable connection when you do the test?
 
Agree with rma, are you talking ethernet or Wifi? Have you tried more than one PC? Lots of variable that can affect this, especially when you get past 100Mbps internet where 5% speed loss is a big number of Mbps.
 
Is the modem setup in bypass mode when its connected to the Netgear?

Or is it doing a double NAT? ie the modem is 192.168.100.x and your local IP on the Nighthawk would be like 192.168.1.x ?
