Hey guys,
I'm looking to increase my productivity by migrating to a triple monitor setup.
It's not for gaming so it should not be enourmous. Instead the screen area should be large enough to display all the content but small enough the whole thing is still managable.
I'm imagining a horizontal display in the middle, which displays code. Mostly 2 pages that can be compared. I feel like 24" would be perfect.
The side monitors will be used to display output/input files (frequently pdfs) and less important tasks. They should be vertical.
The intersections should obviously fit (ocd..).

No restrictions on pricing. A good monitor is not sth one should skimp on imho.
In my experience eizo monitors are well made but I'm generally open for suggestions.

What you're describing sounds like it would be best solved with 1 1440x900 on left, 1 2560x1440 in center, and 1 more 1440x900 on right. The side monitors are flipped to vertical to keep things 1440 all the way across.

I can't point you to brands, but would this resolution fit your theoretical needs?

My personal setup is 2560x1440 -- 3440x1440 -- 2560x1440, but I am not coding on that setup.

The classic 20-30-20 (30" 2560x1600 and 2x 20" 1600x1200 portrait) is the closest fit for what you are describing. They all have the same dot pitch so they line up nearly perfectly.

Since money is no object get 2x Dell 2007fp (IPS model - careful, there is a panel lottery) and a Dell 3014 30". The 2007fp (NB: *NOT* the wfp, that's 1680x1050) has a rotating stand so you don't have to buy anything extra to put it in portrait mode.

Check the thread in this forum for display examples:

Here is a picture of my old 20-30-20 setup (ignore the 3 monitors across the top):

The beauty of the 20" portrait monitors is that they can show a 8.5" x 11" page in 100% scaling without scrolling horizontally or vertically. I knew a magazine writer who actually ordered the Dell monitors online from my computer a minute after I showed her this rig.
