QNIX QX2710 27" 1440p Monitor $200

Which version of the monitor do you have?
The one I listed in OP, the multi one. Though my error is atypical, I'm getting black screen whereas most people with issues just report frame skipping. I am likely doing something wrong.

update, i was using an hdmi cable. Switcher to dvi and 96hz works without frame skip.

Nice!

I'm a firm believer that Qnix changed something with these multi input versions that now allows overclocking. They're a hard to beat value.

Good price. I have the same monitor, but gaming version. Mine overclocked to 110hz at full res, guaranteed to hit 96hz

A couple of questions for you on the "New-QNIX-QX2710-MULTI-HOT-27-LED-2560x1440-FPS-

Game-Mode-HDMI-Computer-Monitor"?

Are you OC with DVI and does this monitor have PWM issues?

Thanks

DVI and no issues that effect me.

I bought one of these years ago for $330 off eBay, does anyone know if the quality is the same? Mine has significant black light bleed and when overclocking the display dims and gets a blue hue. In addition, a few times I've noticed it started to act up, not sure if it's a video card or monitor issue, so may need to replace it soon.

QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution II Multi TRUE10 Matte 27-Inch 2560x1440 AH-VA Panel DVI HDMI Monitor - Newegg.com

Specs seem great and I like the idea of being able to overclock it to 120hz at 1080p (though if you read the reviews it sounds like you only get ~90hz, which is still good). Not sure what "overclocking" it to 4k @30hz does for you though.

How does this monitor compare to the HP LP2465? I'm itching to upgrade but want something that will actually be a big improvement over my current display. I use my monitor for playing games and doing video and photo editing. Below are links to my current monitor.

I don't know mucha about the HP so cant compare, but so far (despite not being able to overclock) I'm really liking mine. Super crisp image @ 1440p (after playing with colors a bit, default settings kinda suck) and response time is really good with no smearing. Speakers are pretty crap though.

I must add to everyone, 4k @30hz looks crap. Only reason to do that is if you ABSOLUTELY must cram more crap on screen than 1440 can handle.

I've used 4k @ 30Hz on the Seiki 39" and I agree with this. If you need the real estate you can use this but only for coding, word processing, etc... The 30Hz gets kinda hard to view with moving objects or anything that you will see ghosting around the screen.

Chiming in to report on the Displayport multi true 10 model(accessorieswhole seller), ordered a 3ft DP cable(Accell B142C-003B), I'm getting 110hz tops with some weird artifacts only when at desktop, like a fizzi motion around text. In game its not noticeable, by me anyhow. Have it at 80hz now with no artifacts compared when I had it with the dvi cable. With the dvi cable anything above 75+ would create green pixel distortions, with the DP cable I haven't seen that even at 110hz. Great monitor, the speakers are a total joke doe.
Edit:

I have both the DVI only and the multi input models. The DVI only model OC's to 120hz without dropping frames, the multi input starts to drop frames at 86hz. Not only does the DVI only version OC higher but it seems, at least to me, to have a better response time.

Does the DVI only support HDCP and what seller did you buy from?

My Overlord monitor hits 120 Hz but slightly whines on certain white screens. I think these QNIX monitors are similar in build material as my Overlord.

It supports HDCP, pretty much everything does. I bought the DVI only one years ago, it was from one of the larger eBay resellers. No dead pixels and only minor light bleed. Both work great but the DVI only one is defiantly the better gaming monitor, always has been.

Hey the one I got supported 4k at 60hz with no artifacts, really surprised me.

Hmm interesting. I'll have to try it. Though it's not the refresh rate that bugged me, it's that the colors seems washed out and the picture in general seemed a bit fuzzy. That was using hdmi so it's possible the signal was pushing its limit. I'm picking up a displayport cable, so maybe it'll look better with that.

Can you give some details on how you are achieving your OC? Standard timings? Are you running any patches or an older driver? Are you using the supplied DVI cable or aftermarket? The best legitimate OC I get is around 85hz, which seems typical from what I've read on some multi input monitors.

using non-crimson 15.11.0 drivers, standard timings, toastyx driver patch and CRU to set the clock.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I am still locked at 85hz after installing toastyx patch and CRU. Currently running with a MSI GTX 970. Going to do some more research to see if I can squeeze out an extra 10hz or so.

The reason it looks like crap is that is a virtual resolution, similar to what Nvidia and AMD do in 3D only this allows it in 2D as well..I couldn't stand looking at any sort of text, would give me a migraine pretty quick :-/

So am I right in saying, based on what everyone said in this thread, that this version: New QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution Ⅱ 27" QHD 2560x1440 PLS Computer Monitor *Glossy would be one that would overclock? It's the QX2710 Evolution II, but NOT the True10 and NOT the Multi input version. This is correct?

Damn I really should have grabbed this back when I first posted and asked. It was $200, now it's up to $270. :( Anyone seen any dealers that still have them around $200?

Yeah I picked up a pair of these about 3 years ago when they were $200ish on ebay, bought mine from a guy named "dream-seller" - very happy, got both @ 96Hz, debezeled, and mounted on swinarms:

Only issue I've had was recently had to replace one of the AC adapters ($15 on amazon) since its cheap chinese hardware, not really surprised. Still way way ahead dollar vs performance wise :)

Here is another seller for $204, not dream-seller or green-sum but listed as an official dealer:

This is the multi input model: DC IN, DVI-D IN, HDMI IN, PC AUDIO IN

I'll keep an eye out for DVI model going back on sale.

What kind of security camera are you using? I'm looking to purchase some once we move back. The quality looks really good.

The quality is amazing -- it's a Samsung system. this one in particular:

Amazon.com : Samsung SDH-P4041ND 8 Channel 1080p Hybrid DVR Security System with 4 Dome 1080p HD Cameras and 4 720TVL Bullet Cameras (White) : Camera & Photo

I paid $999 about 2 years ago. Dunno why it's gone up in price. 100% worth it, each one of those quadrants is a 1080p stream (scaled down when you are looking at 4-way mode) but each one is clickable and then viewed at 1080p. Night vision mode is crystal clear. Support is amazing, I had the leads in one of the RJ45 connectors get a bit corroded due to my ignorance in securing the outdoor camera, they replaced it free, UPS-red overnighted it to boot. It's not cheap I agree, but you do get what you pay for. :)

As a fellow gun enthusiast I see the humor there. However I can't be home 24/7, the system was very useful when I was gone for 2+ months at a time for work in the past just nice being able to check in and make sure the place isn't on fire or broken into.

Personally I keep a mossberg 500 around for home defense myself. And even cheaper than the glock :)

For those still confused on the panel type, QNIX has switched to AU Optronics' (AUO) AHVA (Advanced Hyper View Angle) panel. This is an IPS/PLS clone and has similar properties. It is NOT to be confused with a VA panel.

Have to add a negative stipend on my review. I moved the monitor cross town to a new apt (sandwiched between two pillows, with nothing heavy on it in my back seat), and now am getting really weird vertical line artifacts. Since no damage happened to it, the minor vibration of moving it must have done something to it. Needless to say I'm trying to get an rma going asap...

The model I have is a few years old - Dual Link DVI input only (no built in scaler) and the panels are Samsung VA.... I'm still not 100% versed in the fine differences between TN/VA/IPS... however I'm still impressed to this day at how much I paid vs how much I got monitor wise. I'm searching for that elusive 1440p, Gsync, IPS, thin bezel, good quality monitor... there are lots of options, but they all suffer from huge quality issues and many people have to RMA mulitple times to get a good one (panel lottery). Luckily I don't need to buy for months... cloesest I've found in terms of seemingly regular quality control is the Dell 144Hz gaming monitor, 1440p, 144Hz, thin bezel. Downside is that it's a TN panel, and with the Dell anti-glare that i hate!

I just put in the order for my QX2710 from Newegg since it's sitting at 250 shipped. I'm going from a Dell U3007 and I don't know if i'll miss the size and downgrade from 1600p but for the price I figured it was a cheap enough gamble. My U3007 has been a good monitor over the years but I can tell the backlight is getting tired and it's time to move on. Seems most people have good luck OCing the QX2710 and I'm just hoping to get 96hz out of mine when it arrives.

If you are going to be doing a VESA mount option I will be selling my QNIX 27" 1440p -- OCd to 96Hz with no issue, it's been decased, and debezeled. (pics above in this thread) it's the monitor on the right. Note the big grey blotch on each monitor is just a reflection of the desk, no crazy BLB on it. was going to do 160 shipped just throwing it out there, haven't made an official posting about it yet on FS/FT.
