One mustn't drink and post.

but, seeing as how I'm as guilty as anyone else of doing exactly that: I'll humour your question with a response:

Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 is coming soon, and currently Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the most populated online.

The main thing that killed COD for me was lack of dedicated servers. It's a game where even a tiny amount of lag will cause the game to be extremely annoying. Last good ones were I think COD4 and COD WaW, but the servers are pretty empty these days.

Not if Steam is to be believed.

Blops II MP - Current: 3487, Peak: 6991
MW3 MP - Current: 2032, Peak: 3935
MW2 MP - Current: 1412, Peak: 3044
AW MP - Current: 1318, Peak: 3276

Maybe it's a different spread on consoles, but since he's asking in the PC forum I'll assume that's the only relevant platform. Given that every COD game MW2 and on has been Steamworks, that's an accurate judge of the PC scene for these games, and it's pretty clear that AW is low on the totem pole. BO2 seemed to be the final game that most PC players we're willing to spend their money on. Ghosts bombed, and I think that drastically reduced the future PC market, as seen by the fact that the newest COD has less of a community than the one from 2009. Maybe BO3 will keep a solid community like BO2 has. We'll see in a few months.

Ghosts and AW are both dead as a dodo. Blops 2 is currently the most popular COD online. For PC that is.

I fired up Black Ops 2 and Ghosts the other day and the player pool was very low.
I play Kill Confirmed and on Ghosts that game mode is only in Hardcore and there were 0 players in Hardcore.

Black Ops 2 doesn't support my 21:9 screen properly, it stretches to fit, and there were no hardcore players on there either.

I went ahead and fired up Battlefield 4 and then thought to myself, why did I even bother to buy those COD games.

I still play Black Ops II occasionally. TTK and spawn point issues in Ghosts and AW kill any enjoyment that could be had in those games, in my opinion.

I have the "old" and "older' COD @Thumpber1 ;) I was looking for something withthe times, ;)

I guess I'll wait for the new one and/or disconts on the othert.

black ops 1 is still alive,in EU atleast
it's actually the most recent cod game in my library

( played lots of cod1 and a little bit of UO + 2 + 4 didn't bother with WaW nor mw2 )

really dig the gameplay, not too much spray n pray, most perks are balanced, cod points are a nice touch too
didn't like the later ones ? vote with your wallet for a change !

did the same thing with BF4 and hardline

It's kinda said that this is a good deal for a nearly 5-year old game that was outdated before it was released.

It's a lot sadder that it's still $60 on steam

Black Ops 2 came out Nov 2012. Where'd you get 5 year old from?
