55" LG 55EC9300 1080p Smart 3D Curved OLED HDTV $1999.99 with free shipping

I totally want one. These things make my Panasonic plasma look like ass. I need 65"+ though. I'd take a 1080p OLED set over any other technology at 4K.

Which Panasonic do you have? I have a ST60. I've not seen the OLED sets in person. Is the PQ that superior?

My uncle just got one of these and it's amazing. It has the color depth of a 4k TV. Viewing angles are not a problem at all. You can stand 90 degrees to it and it's still crystal clear. The curve isn't as annoying as you would think. Spend a little time watching it and you don't even notice it anymore. The CPU on it is pretty slow. Switching inputs is slow. It feels like a good 2 seconds but I didn't time it so that's just a guess. 3D looks great even tough its passive; it still looks like 1080p.

This TV is all about picture quality. All the money went into the screen. Slow CPU, fixed power cord that comes straight out the back instead of down for flat wall mounting. Even the legacy inputs are added through a 3.5mm "headset" jack and that plugs in straight out the back as well. Only HDMI 1 supports ARC and that seems to be stereo PCM only. They only include an RF magic wand remote but there is an IR receiver for you to supply your own conventional remote. If you want the best possible picture at the lowest possible price you have to sacrifice those things to save cost. If you are running everything through your receiver with a universal remote you don't care about most of that stuff anyway. You just want the picture and that's where this thing shines.
