Rockstar announced today that the PC version of GTA V has been delayed again. The game is now set to ship April 14th if all goes well.

GTAV for PC will be arriving on April 14th at retail and as a digital download. Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC. As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.

I wish more companies did this and delayed their games to actually get them working properly before rushing out the release.

I wonder which is worse. Shipping out a buggy ass game, or delaying a buggy ass game and shipping something that is still buggy as hell.

Lol, I really hope they don't expect sales to be that great at the $60 price point. Between previous and current gen consoles I think most anyone that wanted to play has done so already.

Why are people getting so mad about the delays? Is this game holding up your life or something? GTA's not even that good.

When it's ready, it's ready.
Can't demand a game to be released if it's not ready.

That's how the game industry became the mess it is now; releasing games before they're ready because of popular/public demand to make money.

"gamers" these days are entitled r-tards. Game launches too early and full of bugs = pissing and moaning. Game is delayed to avoid launching full of bugs = pissing and moaning.

its only another 2 weeks, if your dying to play this game and cannot wait another 2 weeks, i suggest you go outside, get a gf.

I wish more companies didn't make the most dominant gaming platform, the PC, their afterthought.

Releasing the game years after its out for console...

people in general are dumber today, especially the younger generation, the world is in trouble, the future is not looking so bright. Watch the movie idiocracy.

First it was announced for Fall 2014, then January, March and now April. Rockstar, just set a goddamned date and STICK to it, even if its October 2017!

That is what frustrates me is that they keep setting dates and missing them FFS.

Yeah it is fucking aggravating, but at the same time it really is not too far off.
I just wish they sold it at 40 or 50.
With everyone having played this game already, that 60 better translate into a stable game that efficiently utilizes all available resources.

I'm not mad, as long as they take their time and produce a quality game that runs just as great as Max Payne 3 did on PC, then i'm good. Look at GTA IV and how terrible it ran on any system, my GTX 780 still stutters occasionally playing it.

The opposite of what our industry does, which is underpromise and overdeliver.

We'll tell them it'll take 6 months, and then deliver in 5 months with a pre-agreed bonus for early completion.

Its basic customer service that Scotty has been preaching since the 60s.

GMG is your friend.

And who cares that the little dummies on the consoles have had access to a low framers, low res, jaggy filled version?

This was exactly what I was thinking. It's still probably going to be a shitty console port no matter how long it takes them to release it.

The issue with GTAV for PC is that the game is 2 years old. It's $30 for the PS3 version on Amazon. The PC version is going to be $60. Most likely if you really wanted to play the game you've already done so on a crapBox or HorseStation. Why get the expensive PC version? For the graphics?

Even if the game was released on PC I have no interest in getting it. I've played most of the previous GTA's and I'm sick of the open world sandbox. There's won't be any mods for a while, and most likely the game will be buggy as hell with DRM created by God himself.

Well, its supposed to be GTA 5.5, with more content I think.

It further illustrates that they simply don't care about the platform. They keep pushing it out because it isn't done - not because they're "polishing" it. If the PC version actually mattered to them, it would have been finished and released months ago with the other updated versions...if not with the first release.

Calling them out for shitting on the PC platform isn't entitlement, it's disappointment that they don't care about the platform enough to prioritize it.

Relax there buddy, a console has the same hardware all around, the PC has a million possible configurations, PC games need more time to get working correctly across the board. Business wise they make more money on console so thats always going to be a priority.

Dammit, that's a 3-month delay from the original schedule!

Not that I would've bought it right away, but that would make this year's Steam X-mas sales not as good (Jan. vs. Apr. releases). :(

Meh. I originally delayed getting it on the console because I really wanted the PC version. Still haven't played it because of that either. But now after waiting so long, I really don't care. I figure I'll get it eventually once it hits the Steam sale. But it no longer is the must have day 1 purchase for me.

This. Im glad i didnt preorder it. I think im just going to pass. Already played it on PS3

Once upon a time, there was software created called "DirectX" which created standards to program for. This magical software meant that if you programmed according to its standards, it would run on ANY computer capable of supporting its instruction set. So no longer did programmers have to program individually for S3, Matrox Sound blaster, Disney sound source, they could just make ONE version and it would work on all those platforms! There was much rejoicing. Later on, companies decided to shit on standards due to backdoor deals and create the false impression that they needed to program for a million different configurations, when the reality is they were intentionally making it that way.

It sounds like it's being delayed to work on the online(cash cow) portion which IMO is a shame because I have no interest in that part, then again there's no way I'm paying full price for a game that old so whatever.

Because of Rockstar's terrible history with PC ports, I bought this for PS4. I was pretty sure I wouldn't regret that choice and I am even more sure at this point. I recommend not buying this on launch, wait for the reviews to come in first or you might be stuck in a GTA IV PC situation.

Yeah, something tells me this delay is more to do with "Heists" taking the lion's share of time/effort/resources, and less to do with them trying to fix issues in the PC port.

well im ok with the delay as long as they fix what it is being delayed for(and only they know what that is of course). But in doing so and taking this extra time to fix it, I dont wanna see a day1 13gb patch download either.

If they were smart they would have just said "It will be released Q1-Q2 2015." Multiple delays make them look bad and I don't believe for a second they're adding extra polish to the game but fixing major bugs. I was really hyped for this game months ago but now there is no way I'm spending $60 for a game that was originally released in September of 2013. The PC version is an afterthought with limited resources. They simply don't care about the PC community because there isn't enough money to be made in it.

The repeated delays and lack of an explanation are annoying. I think if they gave the reasons for the delays people would be more relaxed about it. Like following the relase note on a beta

Shit I was hoping to play this on spring break... right in time for my birthday :(

Lol at anyone who thinks they're actually polishing the game. They just don't want the PC release to cut into next gen console sales. It will still be buggy as hell when it launches. This is Rockstar we're talking about.

They have waited long enough for that not to be the case.
Its been a while since the next gen launches happened.
We will see if they are polishing performance/stability, or working on the multiplayer segment.
