If you are one of the many Zombie killers out there playing Dying Light and finished the game thinking it was too easy, you’re about to get an update. According to Polygon, Techland will be introducing a free update in March called Hard Mode that will increase the difficulty level to make the game more challenging.

A few gamers have already finished Dying Light and are asking for more. So we're going to give our community a new challenge that will put everything they learnt in the game to the test. Hard Mode is exactly that,.

Hopefully they don't just bump the zombie's health and damage up to 1 million and call it a day. But, on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if that's all it ends up being.

Man, I want to get this game... This is fantastic developer response!

Except that so far the "performance improvements" patched in so far have just been visual quality downgrades...

Other than that, though, the game does seem a bit too easy once you get past the first hour or so.

Well there are different modifiers for the zombies' level of aggression and speed, whether or not they'll scale walls after you, etc. - so somehow I doubt that they're going to just increase HP.

I found that going out at night as much as possible and actually fighting those super zombies that chase you was pretty challenging. I also didnt level up my survivor skills much though, im 78% done the story missions with agility and power maxed but only at level 13 survivor. I have one or two story missions left but I stopped playing those for now so I can complete all the side quests and venture out into night and survive to get that level higher before I beat the game. I typically dont have interest finishing the side content in games after I beat the story for some reason.

Back in the olden days this kind of thing was already done before the game launched.

What a sorry state the gaming world is in today. Makers release half-finished products with the paying public basically being beta testers.

Im sure this post has something to do with this story.

I think the point is that developers think we are supposed to be impressed by (or in the case of Metro:LL, actually pay for) difficulty levels in games now. Which is pretty much a joke.

It's cool that they are adding this for free, but no one in play testing thought the game too easy? Do companies even do play testing anymore?

Nighttime zombie killing is as easy if not easier than day time... especially with camouflage now... just keep killing them one after another without getting attacked

i think i want to play this game but i dont meet the minimum requirements. i really need to upgrade, but i wanted to wait until the oculus launch. :(

Has there been a definitive side by side done yet, out of curiosity? This is more a general question than on directed at you... So far I've just seen conjecture and opinion with some people saying it's been a downgrade and other's saying it's the same and just runs better.

Specifically, the half setting for View Distance in the original version is now equivalent to about maxed on the new patch.

However, the game now has increased draw distance on objects outside of this range. The maximum view distance along the horizon has been increased for buildings, trees, and landscape.

So while objects near your character will lose detail in shorter range (compared to the old max range), objects beyond this range in the distance will now be visible farther away.

For anyone who played at or below 50% View Distance before the patch, your view distance has been unchanged but you will be able to see more objects far away as well. So your graphics have actually improved.
