An Entire PC Inside A Mouse?

if anything, the computer should go in the keyboard....

what about the screen? oh wait they already do that...

I get why the mouse though, because of portabillity. just connect a screen to it and you're good to go.

....or just have a little laptop/surface pro.

Eh maybe. It's an ARM device so it's probably gonna run on Android which means no privacy from Google and app vendors. Also, it's less useful that a phone since it doesn't have a screen.

Those have been around for years. Here's one example I just randomly found on Google

Here's one I owned, as I'm sure did several others on this board:

I agree, though - I wouldn't want to move a mouse with 3 or whatever wires sticking out of it.

I used to make extra cash doing chip and RAM upgrades to those Amiga 500s, neat computers actually.

Still, I would want it to be more like this today;

I'd rather have the PC inside of that, probably, but I'd actually take the Amiga's keyboard over that scissor key garbage :D

Take the picture above, the only wire is power, and it connects wirelessly to everything else to include a wireless hub for USB devices and whatever else you want, hell even add in a dedicated high speed wireless bridge to a graphics station. Better yet, built the graphics card capability into the monitor so you buy the graphic power linked and "sized" to the display. Larger or multiple displays provide more powerful graphics built in and suited to the task.

I'll agree the Amiga keyboards were decent, but at home, that "scissor key garbage" is all I need for WASD :p

I would say not even, have a desk or a desk pad that provides power conductivly, like the cordless charge pads for phones.

Wireless video, sound, internet, heck even put 4G in it.

welp, it looks like a shitty mouse with no side buttons, ie: does a lot of things, good at none of them. also don't care that you may have 3 cords coming out the front. is the video a proof of concept? not sure how the sensor would fit with what they have shown. anyway kind of cool.

Shitload of cords
Heatbox to make my hand uncomfortable and sweaty
Sounds super cool

How about stick an LED to the bottom of a smart phone and use that as a mouse? Has anyone done that yet?

Or that dongle that jams into the back of a screen via HDMI and has a USB port.

Practically anything but the mouse is probably a better idea.

With something like WiDi it could be handy in limited situations like presentations. Otherwise, what's the point?

Do not want. I can carry around a Windows, Linux, or Android install on a flash drive. This thing is pointless. IMO.

Add one of those projected laser keyboards to it, then it really does have everything.

Too many cables. Smart phones can already project via HDMI, AirPlay, etc - so what's the point?
I can also use a bluetooth keyboard, and in some cases a mouse. Meh, move on.

Um. Don't all of us already carry around computers the size of a mouse, complete with input and screen, all the time?

So you carry a usb with an OS on it......with that you have to assume the following:

-There is a computer to hook it up to
-That the computer you hook it up to has proper requirements for usb boot/OS loading
-That USB is even turned on due to security reasons

With this mouse you literally just carry it to a monitor and its everything.......and if there is no keyboard available you could bring up a keyboard in Windows or whatever OS you may have

It's an ARM processor so bringing up a keyboard in Windows isn't likely to happen unless the people who want to produce this thing-y can get access to defunct RT or Windows Phone. Also, speaking of phones, why even bother needing external components when you can just pull your phone from your pocket?

Take that a step further, why even use your phone or this device when you can use someone elses computer to RDP/logmein into your desktop at home......

You can always take things a step further to show how inefficient things are......but this is a step closer to a truly pocket pc....

Much like the Intel computer that was shown at CES...

I can never understand why people hate on new innovations (not saying this directly at you). Seriously its so disheartening when people just hate hate hate and don't even understand that every company has to go through the paces of design, test, deliver.....or the fact that some companies like to create things for the sole fact of getting people thinking differently (ie; Raspberry Pi). I recall many threads about how you cant game on it, or its worthless or wont do this/that/other.

I love the fact that companies keep making and prototyping new things....means we have the right thinkers in the right rooms asking the right questions.

To anyone that hates on anyone for inventing/innovating; Seriously, just gtfo please. Sorry for soap boxing, but dam every news thread is just 95% pure closed/narrow mindedness and it just becomes sad.....

It's going to be Heavy you might drop it on the floor and your PC will break.

Not taking it personally, but I do think that maybe its not fair to interpret people joking around about and poking fun at a product as being hateful. It's a weirdly frequent thing for someone to assume that simple dislike or a feeling of "meh" about something means they hate it. I dunno of anyone who is even a little bit smart that would even get upset at all about some plastic parts that have electronics inside them. That'd be totally a lack of emotional control.

Not me. I've owned cell phones before, but so rarely used them (I only had to recharge one every six months) that I never made a habit of it and just stopped using them altogether 10 years ago.
