Are you going to take the bait or knuckle down and wait until the game actually ships?

Rockstar Games announced the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 would be hit with yet another delay and is now expected to release on March 24. The publisher hopes PC owners will still want to pre-order their copy of GTA 5, so Rockstar is offering a couple of incentives for those who proceed to do so.

Seems like a decent deal and very tempting, but I think I'm still going to wait. The only thing I'd want is Max Payne 3 since I have all of the others. I think I've seen Max Payne 3 for like $10 during a steam sale at one point. I am not sure if I'd want the in-game money either since that seems like it would kind of ruin the story and the incentive to do the story. I'd rather earn it personally.

I refuse to pre-order games anymore, with the exception of The Witcher 3, as CD Projekt RED truly seems to understand, and wants to please, it's customers.

Or I'll just wait until it comes out, get it a week later, and then redeem the free money code in the package like I did for the xbone version.

:D

I wouldn't call any of those games for free a tempting offer.

But the again, I have standards.

And who do Rockstar think they're kidding? They really think that giving away one of those old games is 'compensation' enough for not giving two craps about PC gamers and jerking us around with lies and more lies?

I just pre ordered it on steam. Going to have to clear some hard drive space.

I hate in-game rewards. A large part of the fun in this game is growing your bankroll through the stock market, starting with a million actually makes the game less fun.

Isn't the in-game cash only good for customizations? Is there anything of substance that the in-game cash brings to the table?

I will not pre-order this although I do anticipate this game to be good. If it has SLI support and isn't a complete mess on release, I'll buy it then or wait until remedied.

I think you meant to say "or wait until the game is $10.00 on sale."

I am everything that is "wrong" with PC gaming.

This is business, not high school.

After being burned WAY too many times on pre-orders, I've given up. I also refuse to buy within the first week as well. Wait until reviews come in and read the forums to see if the game is broken or not. If not, THEN I'll buy.

Yes, I want to play GTA 5 on PC.

No, I do not want to pre-order it. I'll wait until it's out, and there are confirmations that the game isn't completely screwed up and is actually worth getting on PC.That doesn't mean I'm going to wait till it's on sale for $10, but I'm not paying full price to beta test a port that has a chance of being complete garbage. If the game isn't crap, I'll happily pay full price for a functional and working game shortly(couple weeks) after release. That doesn't mean some day 1 paid review proclaiming it to be the best thing ever is going to sway my opinion either.

I already own every one of the games they are going to give away for free, so guess it is a question of how much 800,000 virtual bucks is worth to me as I am getting it day one either way.

Reminds me of people that used to pay money for cheat codes back in the NES days... I was always like, you're paying money to play a game, why pay money to cheat at playing it too? Makes no sense to me, as part of the fun of the game is supposedly earning money. And if earning money actually detracts from the fun of the game, why does it exist?

That's my plan.

Got a big enough backlog right now that I might be ready for it once it goes sub-$10 in a Steam sale.

Oh lord.... . Anyone who has any idea what they're doing with their money and gaming already didn't pre-order blindly for no savings, with no refund available. The only people being swayed by this silly "no orders 2015" fad are those who only pre-ordered in the first place because of a fad and wanting to be "part of the crowd". They might stop doing prepurchases briefly at best before returning to their normal sheepish methods of "staying up to date, keeping up with the joneses".

This is hardly news to anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together, that buying anything in life with no idea what it is, no cost incentive, and no way of getting out of it (prepaying + no refunds) is a risky and dumb way to go about doing your business. If it makes you feel better, have your little tempest in a teacup in a couple of forum threads, but don't kid yourself thinking you're effecting any actual change ;).

Im just reading about this no pre order bs. Do you guys think this will work for ppl outside US and canada?

Yes im out of the loop. Anyways, would be awesome if rockstar gave a discount for existing gta V owners. :(

I add the custom tags "Stop Pre-Orders" and "Say NO to Pre-Purchase" to these kinds of games on Steam whenever I see them.

Haha, speaking of which... here's what a no preorder group would look like a day later :p:

Nah, already own on PS3. Wife actually was the one who wanted to play it as I don't really care for GTA. I played most of it before i got bored. Decent game, just not my cup of tea.

The game has already been out on consoles. I have no problem waiting a month at least before I buy to let's others so the beta testing.

I wont pre-order either, costly business with too much disappointment.
