Microsoft has issued an apology for late payments to indie game developers on its Xbox Live platform. Kind of odd that they chose Twitter to make the apology but at least everyone will have checks in time for Christmas.

how the heck does it take 2 weeks to get someone there money.

You aren't talking about a person mailing out a house payment. My guess is that the system is automated and most likely has thousands of people they are cutting checks to. Probably need to go through and see who they actually sent money to and who for some reason they never cut a check to. Then will need to go back and reprocess those people. All of that would take time.

I do agree that is an odd way to apologize, but at least for the people involved they now know they are getting their money in a few weeks.

it's pretty standard for companies to take up to 90 days to even write the check.

Why does it take two weeks? Cause they could get a fck less. Plain and simple. You pirate Windows and it's a large of an issue for them, they are all over you like white on rice. You code your ass off for months, ruin your relationship, charge everything on your credit cards, Microsoft could give a f'c less.

This is honestly why they suck. it's their whole entire mentality.

Did you ever notice that when you owe a company/gov some money, they want it NOW; but when they owe YOU money, they take their sweet ass time?

I'm not one to defend the government, but it's usually if you send in your tax form early, you get your money rather quickly - usually 3-4 days to direct deposit for me. But if you wait til the last minute like 99% of the population... well just remember there are 300 million of us.

Uh it's exactly identical. The owed party always wants it now. The one who owes always wants to pay on their own schedule and gets away with it as much as they can. There are very few situations where you owe money to a company or government entity where you can't drag your ass for some period of time without any real consequence. 30 days is usually safe.

It took longer than anticipated for us to scrape together enough money to pay you guys. So, sorry about that.
