WoW; 5th expansion Warlords of Draenor

im at 43 in my queue, no one is logging off..........longest wait ever.
 
Is anyone surprised? I mean seriously... I've been playing this damn game off and on for over 6 years. I've been there for previous launch days including WOTLK, Cata and MoP. Same shit, different fucking expansion.

I've been telling friends at work I won't bother even trying to play for a few days after launch day. However out of sheer curiosity, I logged in last night after work, and again tonight after work. To no surprise and with a good laugh, I've not spent even a single second in WOD up to this moment.

That said... While you're waiting to log in, this is worth a listen for any WoW fan. I just wish we could make Blizzard wake the fuck up and learn from their mistakes.

After talking to friends who still play and have been sitting in a 7-10k queue more then they have been actually playing the game...so glad I stopped

Either 7.6 million people bought WoD and all of them are attempting to play right now or Blizzards servers blow which they've admitted to, in not so many words, this didn't happen during MoP where the largest queue I saw on a full server was about 1600

I had a similar thing happen, but with my Visa. You have to login to Battle.net account management, and add your card as the primary payment type. Even though they let you enter the card other places, apparently it always bounces (or so says a game master)
 
I'm glad I decided to wait on buying this. Seems like a smart decision. I'm not surprised by the que times. That's standard WoW stuff during an expac release.

If you didnt get a reciept of the purchase via email to your battle.net email address then That was a pre auth and will clear off generally in 24 hours, Once it clears off log into battle.net and add the card and make your purchase.

Same thing happened to me.

Thanks I hope comes off soon.. I'm just going to run and pick it up in store so it doesn't happen again..Tried to put in a ticket but there whole system is jacked right now lol.. All well guess I wasn't meant to play this weekend.

The only reason I'm on Wyrmrest is because I had some friends at college who played on that server and I transferred over the 2 or 3 toons I had at the time. But now I have like 8 toons and all of my said friends no longer play and live in California, but it's too expensive to transfer all of my characters elsewhere.


I don't RP and I stopped PVP years ago. I am currently considering a transfer of 1 or 2 toons to a server a friend at work plays on, I think it's Blackrock if I'm not mistaken.

That said, this launch is a clusterfuck for all servers, regardless of their location or battlegroup or type.
 
Playing again today now that the servers are back online. Got started on my garrison and have found that pretty interesting. Don't think I can do anymore marathon sessions as I have in the past but will move through this xpac a few hours at a time. Really like the tone of this one.
 
I must have logged in right when the servers came up because I'm on Darkspear and didn't have a queue, but the site says there is one now.

Either way, nice that it works, hopefully they raise the player cap so Darkspear doesn't have a queue anymore.
 
So far, this xpac's questing/lore has been great. It reminds me a little of WOTLK as far as great story-telling.
 
I'm xfering my toon off of Darkspear. Anyone Alliance on a PvP server that doesn't have queues?

Really enjoying the expansion so far. The wait times can be a bit annoying but overall it's not too bad, at least for me personally.

I have to take back what i said about Frostfire Ridge, it looks beautiful. I actually feel more at home there than in the crowded forests of Shadowmoon Valley.

It really is a great expansion. I thought the garrison thing was going to be gimmicky.....BOY i was fucking wrong.

It really does rock having your own town to mine/herb/fish/quests etc. Then leveling the town, and then leveling your follower you pickup from quests etc.

Also if you plan to play, MAKE SURE to get the mod handynotes, and then the handynotes_dreanortreasure (or something close to that). There are SOOOO many rare mobs and treasures chests etc in each zone, you will waste so much time lookin for them its great!!!

Also you will see new icons on the maps (sword/shield). these are bonus objectives, which give a massive amount of EXP and gold (sometimes garrison resources for upgrading your town).

All in all I hit 100 yesterday, and got my epic ring from the start of the legendary ring questline (which starts at level 98 in your garrison).

P.S. If you played in TBC you will remember the poop cherry picking quest from Nagrand...ITS BACK! LOL
 
I'm looking forward to the Garrisons. I think one aspect no one has covered yet is they give you something else to do on your own. Over the years my friends have stopped playing and I went through most of Cata and MoP solo as a result. I play off and on, maybe a few hours a week if I have the time and energy to focus. I'm just too damn busy.
 
I'm on a server now that hasn't had a queue yet (knock on wood) and the expansion pack is SOOOO much better now that I can play at will. Also, there are less people camping quest spawns so the experience is soooo much better.

Well worth the $25 defer fee.
 
Haven't played WoW since last winter, I caved, and bought WoD when at Best Buy today, but I can't log in ?

I entered the WoD game key into my battle.net account, it then shows my account updated to Warlords of Draenor status. But it says my account is frozen; "Billing for this account is locked. Please contact Customer Support for assistance."

WTF :rolleyes: I can't enter in my payment anywhere, looking all over. It says to contact customer sup[port, but there is no phone # ? I submitted a ticket, but it doesn't even seem that went through ?
 
Your account probably got hacked and re-activated with a stolen credit card while you were inactive. Once you actually get a hold of customer service they should be able to get you rolling.

How do people feel about instant 90s? I'm vaguely interested to try out a new class, but I'm kinda sad on leaving my main (priest) which I've had since vanilla. I had a backup main (DK) all through WOTLK but always went back. I think I would be kinda sad to lose all the random trinkets (I've hoarded so much stuff in my bank!), exalted reps, achievements etc...

I don't think I have enough time for 2 mains (1 is a stretch at the moment!) so playing both isn't quite an option right now.

So tempted to go back lol, problem is my 280X is RMA'd atm. I have a 7900 GT with 256 meg vram atm and i really don't think that card is going to be able to pull it off.

Haven't played since cata, is there any cheap ways to get back into it or am i going to have to buy MoP as well?
 
I actually emailed customer support to see if I could wrangle a free trial period. Stopped playing a little while after Cataclysm was released and am finally curious enough to come back and try it again. Figured the starter edition to level 20 wouldn't let me experience the higher level zones that I would actually be doing.

I certainly have enough content to wade through if it does hold my interest this time.
 
So should have done Lumber Mill from the start. Hit 100 yesterday, and not nearly enough resources for Level 3 garrison. :(

MoP is now free to anyone who has bought WoW. MoP was pretty boring imo, I'm not a raider but the whole panda-oriented lore wasn't big for me. It wasn't BAD, it was just kind of meh. I'm enjoying WoD a lot so far though, aside from the fact that every quest NPC seems to be in a cave that's hidden away. These quests need to show the entrance to the cave if that's where the npcs are, half the time I do a quest I'm standing in a zone on top of the quest objective only to realize there's probably a cave I need to look for which takes 10 minutes to find.

98 atm though most of my friends are 100 and enjoying dungeons and Ashran (well, some of them, some seem to hate Ashran).
 
Thanks dude, might re-sub just to see how it runs on a 7900 GT. I cannot believe i sold my 560 TI when i knew i was going to have to RMA my AMD card. So dumb of me
 
I think Blizzard went full retard this time with hidden treasures and rare mobs. There is way too many of them. The only solution is an addon like HandyNotes + Draenor Treasures plug-in.

But... finding all those treasures and killing all those rares will give you a nice boost in garrison resources / enchanting mats.

This time around LFRs gonna suck big time (lame gear, non-set items). It won't be available until Highmaul raid open on Dec 2nd(?) or a week or two later.
 
How are queue's looking today for higher pop servers? Was a nightmare this weekend, though sunday was actually OK in the morning.
 
I'm actually glad I re-subbed after taking a 4 year break. Was on Darkspear and had to battle the 4k + queues when trying to log in. Once I changed servers to a low population it is much more enjoyable.

Lies. Seriously, when I get focused, I can blow through the quests quickly enough, but you'd have to had been online every available minute to go through the content that fast. When I talk about the sub zone quests, I'm referring to the little crossed swords on the map... there are almost a dozen in every zone, and they do take time as well.

Would it be more accurate to say that you burned out a bit in the rush to 100?
