Yeah OP, wheres your comment/point?
We can all google, ya know...

I know there is no release date yet....

blast, I thought it was out, already. I haven't turned on my PS4 in some time, as that requires turning on my receiver...

I prefer to call it soony 2.0 maybe it will fix remote play so my 140 dollars pstv purchase isn't a complete waste.

They need to get on it they flapped their gums and people bit buying this thing now don't just sit there and count our money.

I'm only looking for instant game resume. I've gotten very used to that feature on the xbox one. Just power up and presto, your game is already up, running, and in session.

5 seconds from powerup to playing a game. It's already swayed me away from buying new releases on the PS4 (assuming crossplatform).

I agree I love this on my xbox one so much. Playing diablo 3 middle of a rift and my wife calls for help, I can just hit power and come back to my rift 4 hours later like nothing happened

I think the point is obvious. There was too much speculation with 2.0 to the point that articles were written about that speculation, now there is less. It seems that version 2.0 is worthy of its version. Even if some desired features are still not a part of the system with this firmware upgrade

As for the Google-Fu, some websites have more information than others concerning the upgrade. Rather, than being like the way you were with your post, why not use your ability to find more information and post it if it is that much better?

You made the thread fool.
Don't get mad. You just posted links and said nothing. How can you create a discussion if you, who started it, said nothing to get the convo going? Your last reply would have been good to started this thread with... anyway.... I'm annoyed they have stated all this stuff already, and this announcement still has no release date. Was it because Xbone just got an update???

Sony is dropping the ball with updates. They are giving us stuff that should have been from the start, in fact it almost looks like one of the features is taken right from the Xbox One's side menu of about 16 apps for quick access...

As much crap as people on this board love to talk about microsoft and how horrible their software is this just shows what a software oriented company is capable of doing in the fraction of a time another huge company like sony can manage

It's astounding how fast Microsoft can turn it around with software updates. Sony needs to eat some humble pie.

Yeah, just imagine how awesome it would be if the PS4 or the XB1 were actually next gen consoles.

Yar, definitely kudos to MS and their update schedule for XBone.

As for the upcoming PS4 update, I haven't really read the release notes in detail, just glanced over them. One note that I did like is the 'Add to library' feature for PS+ members. I always found it, not quite a hassle, but kinda time consuming to 'purchase' PS+ games. Just having one button to add it to my library sounds great to me.

THEMES finally =) Was wondering if Had to suffer with blue for the duration.
Going for the first good looking Dark Souls II theme or Destiny theme.

So we still can't make our own music playlist from uploading to the hard drive?
Who the hell uses a USB stick to listen to music?
It's so impractical.

Lackluster overall. After a year of minor updates this is it?

Xbox has DLNA , Plex , tons of added apps , external hard drive support and HBO GO in a few weeks..

Fucking pathetic Sony. You've done hardly anything at all except manage to make a further mess out of PSN. Seriously PSN is always down for me , anyone else?

I have no other issues but PSN friends list and party stuff is always down. The store is up about 50/50 percent of the time.

I've had zero outages with Xbox Live. I remember when Lizard Squad tried to bring them down and it lasted a grand total of 30 minutes. Meanwhile PSN was down for days.

Sony certainly has better hardware but the software is absolutely disappointing.

Counting money...
The USB music is a joke. I cant save to HDD? Why? Its 2014. Modern Electronics. Why?

I am somewhat new to PSN, I did not have a PS3 and I just got my PS4 in September and I have only had it down on me once. That time it was down for a couple days ago and I only noticed it for about an hour. I have never seen it down on mine system except that one time.
The one thing that is aggravating me is the how long it takes to see a message. I see the popup telling me I have a message, but I don't bother to go read it until 5 mins later because that seems to be how long it takes for the system to actually be able to read it.

Does anyone have any idea why Sony is taking so long with releases?

At the moment they're selling a crazy amount of PS4s. I'm sure if the Xbox One was selling better Sony would've had most of these updates already implemented. They're in a position of power so there is no sense of urgency.

PSN is hardly down other than maintenance for me. However, I don't remember XBL ever being down for me whenever I fire up my Xbone -- that could be because Destiny has taken up my entire console gaming life and I rarely ever touch the Xbone anymore... only for streaming videos or Netflix :p

I posted that it seems worthy of the version number (q.v. Linux: major.minor.patches). Which I guess you do not understand and begs the question of who is the foolish one? It seems that your annoyance is being directed towards the post because of your misunderstanding of the firmware version scheme and title which is comprehensive enough for a forum post.

Personally, I have preferred the minor updates for "stability" and a few features here and there. Although, Microsoft is pushing updates likes crazy, and people tend to prefer that. But the fact is that the XBox One is-technically-in a far worse situation and is not as well thought out as the PS4 so far.

It would be nice to have the features as promised on release, no doubt. However, if time makes a better product I do not mind waiting for a little while. It needs to be the better though.

The first 2 posts in here asked for your comment. If you haven't been in a forum in the last 10 years, its typically common to post your own opinion/comment to any thread you decide to make. You know, to start discussion...
Regardless, we got back on topic days ago. Let it go...

Again, the question that you need to ask yourself: You never read the title, nor comprehended it? I didn't need to let it go; never was a problem. However, you are not understanding of the fault that the "comment" is in the title of the thread and the argument of it being a worthy version is what the post is about (q.v. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_versioning).

I can make it easier to understand: Even though the release was not as promised features are continuing to be added to the console making it the little robust machine as designed. With this firmware the owners are finally closer to the product as announced. Even though not all the features announced are not included as of yet, this version of the firmware is worthy of it 2.0 version scheme and therefore can be considered a worthy release.

It is all in the title. Then posted links concerning the upcoming release.

I dunno, when I first read the title, I thought it was a sarcastic jab at Sony because of the way MS has been pushing out their updates and when I opened the thread there was only a link. But Seymour's a simple man with simple comprehension, so that's probably to blame.

You are beyond dense.
2 people called you out and you still think starting a thread with no words is how its done, but keep fighting the good fight or whatever you're doing... So this thread doesn't go stupid, I'm not replying to you anymore.

I dunno, they say brevity is the soul of wit.

I got what he was trying to say right away and while I was too lazy (or busy) to read the links I understood him to be saying "Yea!!! Sony made a good update!!!"

Turns out is isn't that great.

It sucks that PS4 folk have to wait forever for shit that should have been there at lunch while MS pumps the updates in spades for their system. It's like seeing a fat ugly bastard with a really hot chick.

Yar, I'm giving Sony a bit of leeway because they marketed this system as a 'games console' moreso than a 'all in one media' device - so their lack of multimedia functions doesn't upset me that much. Though it would be nice if they at least had media parity with their previous console and more quality games.

Still, I've said it before, kudos to MS for their software updates. I opted for a PS4 as my personal gaming device, but if I were to pick up a media box for my livingroom it'd be either a HTPC or a XBone.

Not sure if you're referring to the PS4 as a 'fat ugly bastard' and us as 'really hot chick's. But if so... thanks for the compliment!

Some decent ones. But both current gen systems are lacking in the exclusive fronts. With both sides falling flat.

Not really, Sonys exclusives are not only small in number, but their being shit on by not only reviews but public opinion. Xbox One actually has exclusives that people enjoy (cough driveclub vs forza...cough)

That makes enough sense, though I don't understand why they can't release features in smaller updates. I love rolling release schedules.
