344.16 causes my GTX 980 to TDR... A LOT.

Downloaded it two days ago when it was beta and *every* game I loaded up caused an instant TDR.

When I saw it went WHQL today, I figured they must have fixed something so I installed it again. Same issue.

Tested all of this at stock speeds, and I've never increased the voltage on the card.

I've had a couple but only when attempting to run Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon in full screen, everything else seems to work fine. There is definitely a bug here somewhere.

If you're getting tdrs in different titles then you certainly have bad hardware. Either the GPU memory is bad or system ram is bad.

RMA... probably problem with the GPU.. have you used MSI Afterburner or EVGA precision to verify what voltages, Clocks (GPU clock and vRAM) and utilization percentage at the moment of the tdr?.

Works fine with 344.11 guys. It's a problem with this specific driver, not my hardware.

I think im having the same problem with 344.16 beta. Only seems to happen in Metro Last light redux with advanced physx enabled. Ill is try rolling back to 344.11.

I have problems with COD Black Ops 2, i played more then 7-8 other games no problem but COD multiplayer gives me TDR randomly from 5-50min with SLi and without must be the drivers, 344.16 here.

Another problem since i installed 980's i have problems lunching some of the EA Games BF4, Titanfall and Garden Warfare, after the splash screen they just get stuck with slow loading forever like 1-2fps.
BF3, Cysis 3 works fine, might be coincidence and somewthing is wrong with EA and ORIGIN, but those games loaded fine before 980's.
steam games i have no problem loading

I think these drivers are half-baked. I've had some stability issues with them and I got the weird 1-2 FPS thing with BF4 on my system, too.

Oh good im not alone i was going crazy here trying to figure out whats BF4 problem but it might be the actual Frostbyte 3 thing since Garden Warfare uses Frostbyte 3 too and i have same loading problem with that game.

Cant explain Titanfall its on Source engine, same thing slow 1-2fps loading forever right after initial splash screen.

Other games are fine strange, probably just the drivers i guess...

THIS. The only change in 344.16 was to fix compatibility with TWO specific motherboards: the ASUS Rampage Black and Asrock X79.

SOURCE (page 14).

Release Notes said:
Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 8.1 Fixed Issues
 [GeForce GTX 980/970][ASUS Rampage Black MB]: Code 49 error occurs with the GPU in Device Properties. [1549389]
 [GeForce GTX 970][Asrock x79 MB]: Code 43 error occurs with the GPU in Device Properties. [1555504]
If you don't have these motherboards or the error that goes with them then there is no reason to update.

Impatiently waiting for MFAA and DSR for SLI...

Welp, guess I should hold off on buying until nVidia releases a proper driver.

By all accounts 344.11 works fine. MFAA and DSR are not deal breakers for me, but it would have been nice to have these much-touted features available at release...

Both Titanfall and BF4 are on Origin. I wonder if that's the issue? I eventually got BF4 to work, but I had to close and restart it 2-3 times. I haven't tried Titantfall, but I will when I get home.
