hello people, i want to upgrade my radeon x1650 512 mb with something much better for my games.
my pc is a pentium dual core e6700 3.2 ghz. 4 gb ram, what u suggest?

less 100 euros, the resolution is 1280 x 800 usually cause the game runs better but my native monitor resolution is 1440x900, i would play games like assassin creed 4 or battlefield 3/4 even at medium/low resolution,
my motherboard is a asus p5g41t lmx and i dont know what video card is compatible with it
thx

I think you meant P5G41T-M LX?

If so it has a PCIex16 slot... any idea what your power supply wattage is?

If your power supply is low wattage a 750ti might be a good fit since it has very good performance/watt. There's plenty of reviews for the 750ti... That's really the strength of the 750ti, being able to fit into low wattage systems with poor air flow (doesn't give off much heat, around 55 watt I believe).

From AMD's side you have the 260X, about 25% cheaper, around 110 watts, same performance. 110 watts still isn't too bad... again depends on your setup.

SO mainly depends on your case and power supply. Either card at your resolution will be able to do BF4 on at least high, maybe ultra with 2x MSAA depending on your FPS tolerance @ your native res. Checkout the review below.

Oh also remember you're pushing 43% less pixels than 1900x1200. So I would imagine 33 fps for a 260x should become 33*1.43 = 47 fps for BF4 on ultra 2xMSAA, ect. Of course your numbers may vary slightly based on other system spec, ect. but gives you a good idea. I personally run around 50 fps and it's very smooth.

sorry my motherboard is a P5G41T-M-LE, my pc is old of 3/4 years and i dont know the voltage, my case is vento ta-d2

Just get the Asus version of the 750Ti if you have to have Asus. I'd take that all day long over the 6670 or 250x.

When you have "70" at the end it means it was a high end card of the generation and they use a lot of power. The 250X is actually the same as a 7770. It's a fine card, about 20% slower than a 260X but can use up to 200 watts. You'd be dumping a lot of heat into your case and using a decent amount of power. If you look at the back of your computer at the power supply it should tell you how many volts/amps it uses. If you multiply those that's the wattage. It might even have the wattage on it.

You have to watch those older cards might not support directX 11, ect.

Or do what kirbyrj said. 750ti is a sex machine and definitely work.

Thread seems in favor of the 750ti, sounds like a wiiner. Would be fine from Asus or MSI.

your power supply is going to dictate your possible upgrade.

I would go with a radeon r7 265 if your powersupply can handle it.

If you are going to upgrade, get the very best card you possibly can, don't try to save a couple bucks, spend to your absolute budget limits as far as your power supply will let you go. moving from a x1650 to any of the modern cards is going to offer a huge performance upgrade, may as well do it right.

Since the 750ti and 265 are nearly equal performance wise and the 750ti sips power I'll agree with the consensus here and say 750ti is your best bet.

I'd also suggest upgrading your cpu as well a Q6600 or Q8300 or something would be a good bet. I'm not sure about AC4 but BF3/BF4 will take advantage of the extra cores. If you don;t want to spend $30-$40 on a cpu upgrade you can prolly snag a E8400 for $15-$20.

+1

Socket T processors are dirt cheap now. A Q6600 would be a huge upgrade for such a small investment. I recently took a shitty old Dell Optiplex at work that had an e6750 cpu and swapped in a Q6600 and added a low profile Visiontek 7750 gpu. Now I play Guild Wars 2 at work pretty well. The PSU in those Dells are only 290w.

If you have about 200 watt for your video card then I would recommend to buy a used 270x. Check FS section you can find many good options with good custom cooling systems.

750ti has great performance per watt, went Zotac myself and not regretting it one bit.
I can also run PhysX on high on both Borderlands 1&2 and still keep a 60fps @1080p resolution.
I can't complain one bit, the card has far exceeded my expectations and I'm usually an ATI/ AMD guy, but by far Maxwell is probably the best architecture out there, I'm dying to see the new 880s.
