E3 is still delivering on glimpses into the new games being released in the near future and we have the E3 full theater presentation of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It’s a long demo, so Gamespot has provided highlights of the demonstration and some guided cliff notes.

Movies don't have gameplay. I am not joking, nor trolling.

Looks good, though.

Looks interesting... The base and "fultoning" of stuff looks neat, personnel seemed to be "trainable". I guess it depends how in depth the management will be... too little and its another sudo feature, too much and it would take away from the game.

I'm going to wager a winter 2015/16 release for PC. Until then I'm going to avoid anything to do with this game like the plague (foxdie?)

That said, this game looks awesome and I hope it does come to PC.

Yeah. I'm curious if you can fulton dead guys or just the knocked out ones. I couldn't tell if he was tranqing guys or shooting them with a gun. It'd be a cool feature if it was only guys you knocked out / put to sleep. Makes you want to not just snipe everyone.

Remember when being surprised by an enemy meant you might actually take some damage? Sigh....

The Phantom Pain? Conjures images of SS in his later years... "I'm gettin too old for this... that damn phantom pain in my knee is back again..."

I've got a love hate relationship with Metal Gear. It's got an awesome universe of characters but the story is crazy and at times can be really silly. It would be amazing as a serious game.

That's my problem with it too. When I watch that video it's like Arma 3 crossed with Super Mario Brothers. It's trying to be gritty and realistic, but then you have the ridiculous Fulton (are there squadrons of C130's up there just waiting to pick everything up?) and shiny pick-ups like stars, oops I mean diamonds.

The first 2 on the NES were great, everything after has been a cinematic shitshow.

Oilrig ! Had completely purged that map from memory. What a classic. Grrr those annoying hostages not being able to properly follow you... vent campers bloody vent campers.

Yeah, that feature is pretty stupid. It didn't ever seem like the player was in any real danger.

You can turn that feature off. I believe it's simply called quick reflex.
