My tmobile contract is up, and I hate their coverage. I have an unlocked galaxy s3 (non lte). I don't mind signing a two year agreement if it's a good price.

I can get on cricket for $45 with 2.5gb data. Or sign a new agreement with Verizon for $60 a month and get a new phone. What do you guys think? Or should I look at another carrier?

Thanks

you should really get an LTE phone

check sensorly/opensignal.. most likely at&t/verizon would be better than t-mobile in your location, and both would be similar enough

are you looking to get a flagship phone? otherwise, Moto G LTE ($220) + cricket (or AIO / Straighttalk) works out to be cheaper than the Verizon $60 2GB Loyalty plan (Verizon postpaid charges taxes, plan to spend 10-20% more)

Why are you trying to play salesperson? OP did not ask for your advice on whether or not he should buy an LTE phone nor did he tell you what he uses his phone for. Telling him he "should" buy an LTE phone without knowing how he uses it is ridiculous.

OP, I'm currently switching from Straight Talk to Cricket, myself. I bought a 365 day service card for ST from "CardArt" on Amazon and Straight Talk activated it at first, then changed their minds and canceled it. When I contacted them, they said I didn't buy the card from an authorized dealer, so I got screwed out of all the money. And worst of all, I couldn't return the card because they waited over a month to screw me over. Cricket Wireless cannot possibly be worse than Straight Talk. And network-wise AT&T is much better than T-Mo. ST also spams me in text messages quite badly.

OP, how are you seeing a Verizon offer for $60? I priced Verizon out maybe 4-5 months ago and I'd have been paying $100-110/mo... Am I missing something here? $60 for Verizon seems too good to be true (aside from the fact that they still use stupid CDMA).

I think Cricket was CDMA and they are now in the process of switching over to GSM? Are new users limited on what phone network they can activate a new phone on?

Maybe I'm misreading it. But it starts at $60 for a plan right?

Ya, I was thinking of going Verizon or cricket and get a moto g lte.

well, almost all the carriers (maybe not sprint) is focusing on LTE deployment, and not caring much for 3G/CDMA - Verizon with their XLTE, at&t with LTE carrier aggregation, all carriers with VoLTE... even refarming existing 2G/3G bands for LTE usage...it would be better to get an LTE compatible phone

also, have you seen the speed tests on 3G? t-mobile's the one with the pretty fast/decent 3G network (if you have the signal)

2GB "Loyalty" plan with phone subsidy... you get data overage charges though

it's minimum $15 for 250MB plus $40 line fee = $55 minimum ... think you'll want more data than that

My wife and I have been using Republic wireless for awhile now and are very happy with them. There service is not for the hard core phone users, but for casual users it is great. I have the Moto G 3G phone which is sufficient for my usage needs and is unlimited for $25/month. Republic uses the sprint network so make sure sprint's network will suit your needs in your area.
