Titanfall - Respawn Entertainment's first game

I don't disagree. They just seemed surprised how different it looked on high textures and they could still go to insane detail level which requires a 3GB GPU.

I think they thought it would be closer.

It take more GPU power and memory bandwidth to utilize larger textures.
 
I want to try the beta, because none of these videos are doing it for me. It just doesn't look gripping.
But this is a $20 game. They are smoking asking for $60.

It's mostly PR speak, avoiding any real answers but there are a couple interesting tidbits in there. Mostly on Respawn's opinion of the traditional DLC cycle. It's not the most promising info for this one, but maybe something they can do for future titles.

I can't wait to try out their amazing PC features like the FOV slider and mouse acceleration.

Yeah that pistol with homing bullets, and the fact the AI bots count toward KDR so basically everybody winds up with a 3.0+ KDR no matter what -- WUT.

They couldn't be catering more to everyone-gets-a-trophy-cuz-mommy-said-so console kiddies if they tried.

The game seems really geared towards the idea of just "Have fun, whatever" instead of being overly competitive. The AI on the grunts and specters could handle being better though. They should be a littler more than just walking targets.
 
The smart-pistol is a primary weapon and isn't very good against any player with half-decent aim.
 
If anyone has an Xbox One code I'll happily take it :)

I wanna play with my brother in the beta.
 
I'm getting rather bored of BF4, so hopefully this fits the bill. I think it looks like a blast to play. However I'd never pay full price for it. Let's just hope there's still a community for it when the first 20 dollar sale hits.
 
is Titanfall an AMD or Nvidia sponsored game?...and what are the chances of it being included in a Never Settle or similar Nvidia bundle?
 
If EA/DICE made a BF 2143, I'd be over the damn moon. I still say, to this day, BF2142 was the best battlefield game made. 64 player multi over massive maps with mechs and hovertanks..

And drop-in spawn pods. Don't forget those.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember seeing either of them attached to it.
 
I am glad to have played the beta because the game is so meh in just about every respect that there is no way I would part with any of my hard earned money for this console shmozzle.

I'm still keeping an eye on my email to see if I get anything. I signed up right after the signups were put up, though I wonder if they're just doing them at random.

Same here. I actually signed up both for X1 and PC. Kinda would have prefered it for X1, as I'm sure thats what Id get it on (I know... I know... but I have shitty console friends :p)

No sure if Origin is getting hammered or I'm just lucky, but I've been stuck on "preparing download..." since I activated the key.

EDIT: Restarting Origin got it, 12.38GB download. Look's like I won't be playing until after work.
 
I signed up before a friend of mine and he just got his code about 30 mins ago, still waiting on my end
 
I signed up yesterday and nothing yet...I'm UK based if that makes a difference.

Probably a good thing, not sure the missus would appreciate me playing Titanfall all night on Valentine's Day!
 
just got my beta code as well...so the beta has been underway for a few days?...when does it end?
 
Got my beta code as well. I probably wont get around to playing until tonight around 8pm (pst). I'll be streaming on Twitch for my friends who didn't get in, so if you want to pop over and get confirmation that somebody sucks harder than you, my channel is here.

Zampella said they want to get a lot of people in on the beta. Seems like a good way to stress test servers. Titanfall is really going to be the first big test for the XB1 servers and EA could use some good press on the PC side after the really messy launches of SimCity and BF4.
 
pre-release beta has to be a good sign...right?... :D ...almost no one releases betas anymore, much less pre-release...too risky

Try restarting Origin or reinstalling the game. I did a quick Google search and there isn't really anything as far as reports go for bugs in the beta yet.
 
I ended up getting codes for both the PC and the Xbox One even though I only signed up for the PC version. I'll have to do some comparisons this weekend.
