There is a review of the Corsair Obsidian Series 750D full-tower ATX case posted this morning over at Vortez.

750D is a full-tower minimalist chassis which as tradition would have it, features luxurious brushed aluminum. This new addition to the Obsidian family has water cooling boxed off and should offer plenty of flexibility for clearance options throughout.

Me like.

That's about what I wanted to spend on a case too. Looks like I found a new home for my Haswell machine that is sitting open air on my desk right now.

It looks okay, but as I'm sucker for some strange ideas, I'll be going this month for carbide 540 as it's same price. Would go for my favorite looking Antec Skeleton, but having Maine coon at home makes open case a no go :)

That's also my biggest beef with most of the good cases like 750 or 900. They are way to conservative looking. I'd love to see some wild experiments, like that case that has PSU on the top,and fans on the floor, or just with looks like Phantom or Storm Trooper.

Its litterly like everybody forgot something called the 650D lol, this is a downgrade.

"luxurious brushed aluminum"????

WTF. Have they not seen any Lian Li boxes from the last...I dunno...decade?

My main machine is also my data storage box so I like the fact that I can get all 6 of my hdds in there as well as having space for my ssd's. I like the internal layout more in the 750d also as well as the cleaner front. I only have 1 5.25" drive anyways.

The 750d is also $30 cheaper not counting rebates for me.

hmm, having a 650d already makes things difficult - but e-atx support is nice

decisions, decisions

Ordered and I have a 650D already. Like the SSD tray and with this build, getting rid of the 3.5's and the DVD-Rom. No longer required.....

Started a build in the 750D Due to a mix up, I won't be able to complete it for a few days until a few more parts arrive, but so far so good.

My initial impression is that many of the components are clearly oem'd from somewhere else, as indicated by tabs/mounting holes on the case that just aren't used (like side panel tab holes on the case, but the side panels don't use them). Alternatively, the design is much more simple and open in contrast tot he rest of the Obsidian series, and the inclusion of the 2.5" mounting system is fantastic. I feel they traded craftsmanship for an updated design at a mid range price, and did a pretty good job of it.

Tooling a case up is very expensive. So as a result, you try and tool up a single frame for multiple potential cases.

For example, the 400R, 500R, and 550D all share a lot of parts.

The 650D and 600T share a lot of internal parts, and in fact, the 750D shares a few parts (hard drive cages and trays, PSU dust filter) with the 650D as well.

However, the 750D is the first full tower we've released since the 800D (we consider the 900D a "super tower" as it's comically oversized), and almost all of the parts are new. But we may use the base chassis to release other full towers in the future if we deem them necessary. But the chassis is very flexible, for everything from a lower end to a higher end product, and those slots were added as a potential side panel attach method for future products.

Thanks Corsair for an awesome case.
This 750D has every single piece I've been looking for and nothing I don't want.
Dual 140s up front, single TRUE 140 exhaust, plenty of room up top for a H110 and removable 3.5 trays. Perfect.

We just bought this case, the Corsair 750D and the built in stand offs are off when it comes to mounting our Asus X79 Deluxe, the io/plate does not line up correctly with the usb ports making them non-functional. The 750D tray is straight, the motherboard is not warped. The case is not tweaked. Everything is as it should be. These built in stand offs are junk.

We have used the built-in standoffs before for the 300R, and they have been used for years without issues - can you give me your specific motherboard model number so I can buy one and do a compatibility test please?
