Its unfortunate how the media twists things - it may seem like they are reporting facts, but they its very clear that they have an agenda.

They present facts in such a way that are steering us to form opinions in a certain way. Oh well, I feel bad for the person who got robbed.

Pretty much. People get stabbed over iPads and iPods and iPhones all the time, but we don't see people claiming those products cause violence.

"Hype, luxury goods and poverty can potentially lead to violent situations"

That's a more honest blanket statement.

Look, I'm all for some sensless stabbing, but clearly this just shows that console gamers are violent and PC gamers have attained the purest form of enlightenment.

I balance the sensless stabbings with rational stabbings equally. Don't worry about me.

Hey steam could have a new slogan.

STEAM! preventing senseless stabbings one preload at a time.

I got stabbed after buying diapers... babies are the cause of violence :/

Heres a good example. This article states a torture scene in GTA V is sparking controversy. With who specifically? Oops the article forgets to mention.

I remember when Air Jordan's first came out and hearing in the news that someone was murdered for their pair.

I also remember hearing that an individual who bought a day one iPhone in 2007 was murdered on their way home .. for their iPhone.

There are tons of fucked up and desperate people out there. Even though the odds are incredibly tiny ( you have a much greater chance of dying in your home from something completely dumb ) This is part of the reason I rarely stand in line for day one anything. Much easier to preorder through Amazon ( or wherever ) and just avoid all that. The thought of dying for some "thing" I do not need to survive ..

Shit happens. Worth noting that on GTA 5's launch day 2 Canadian teenagers saved a 70 year old man from burning to death in his own home while they were on their way back from the Midnight release of GTA 5..

Well, The Daily Mail is widely acknowledged to be the biggest perpetrator of this. I'm sure there are some credible outlets with coverage of this.

And this is why you wait and buy games via digital download and not at Walmart at midnight at release day.

Having never been arrested, I'm curious why people do stuff like this and then proceed to tell the cops everything they did when they get caught. Do they get a lighter sentence or something?

why would anyone stab another person over GTA 5?...now if it was Dark Souls 2 I could understand :p

maybe they get intimidated but a lighter sentence I don't think so

Don't you ever watch any Law & Order type shows? :D If you get offered a plea bargain, it usually means you'll confess and plead guilty, in exchange for a lighter sentence. Of course, if you get scared or intimidated and blab before that, chances are you don't. It all depends on what happens behind the scenes.
