Newegg Haswell + Mobo Combos are Back

Just buy the next time they offer the deal. Even though the parts are still available, they aren't forced to sell them at a loss to you. Like the above poster said. They probably allocated a specific number to sell at that price.

You don't honestly think that Newegg is the only company that runs a promotion "until supplies last."

They have a budgeted amount of loss that they can take from these combos. Then plug the data to see how much traffic they received on their website, and other goods purchased. If this was a good business decision, plan on seeing the combo again in the near future.

While true, NE did not specify "While supplies last". They simply had "limited time only" and had the expiration date of July 31, 2013. If that was specified somewhere I missed it.

It was ambiguous at best from that point of view. It's neither here nor there since most of us have been aware of NE's scheister transition for a while now.
 
regarding the plastic enclosure covering much of the ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87, is that actually useful?

wouldn't that invite getting dust stuck beneath the plastic very easily?

Yup, exactly my thoughts regarding the dust. I honestly see the thermal armor as a complete gimmick. The only thing useful about the thermal armor is aesthetics.

I hear ya, I just try not to get bothered if I miss a deal, or didn't get on it in time. More of a, "maybe next time". I think Newegg will continue these promotions off and on for a while. I think it's generated a bit of revenue for them. The closest MC to me is in ATL, about 4 hour drive. Hardly worth it... :eek:
 
I had a P67 Sabertooth with a similar plastic cover, and I had no issues with dust. But my cases are always filtered, so dust is never really an issue with me. After a while, I'll get that fine powder coat, but it comes out easily.

The P67 Saber doesn't have a rear assist fan like the Z77 and Z87 saber. So it doesn't apply to the same situation like in this case
 
Deal looks like it is dead now and CPU and Motherboard prices are absurd now.
 
Yeah this deal is dead. They should really take down the promo page like they did last time.
