i haven't been to hardocp in awhile, and to hardforum that much recently. But I just noticed that there are no ads showing up, anywhere.

i'm running adblock plus and put in what I think are exclusions following this pattern, but they have no effect.
@@||example.com^$document

unless you guys have done away with advertising, I'm surprised there isn't at least a sticky on this somewhere...

advertising is still around - Sounds exactly like a ad blocking software

Addblock plus will allow you to white list a site on its own, no need to write your own exclusion atleast in my experience on Chrome.

Left click the adblock icon and allow the hardocp.com and hardforum.com domains. That is much appreciated.

yes, which i did per the pattern above. no joy.

I'm also hinting that a sticky on how to do this (which I thought there was at one point) would be a lot more pragmatic than relying on each reader to notice and research themselves.

I have no ads either, on most pages without adblock plus (right now it's a big white square as it is around 8/10). The only other non white square ad I get is Tiger Direct, everything else is just white.

Sounds like an ad blocking program issue.

I don't use any kind of ad block at all (it's the same on IE10, Opera etc.) just no ads other than Tiger Direct.

I noticed the same thing. The TG ads are images and most of the others are flash-based. So, if you're running a flash blocker, that's what you'll see.

I hate, hate, HATE highly animated ads on the page (especially flashing ones). it's like reading a newspaper in times square.

I'm on my Note 2 using Dolphin and I see all the usual ads on the forum and the front page. Seems to br working fine for me at least. I don't run Adblock on my desktop (I admit it, I feel guilty) and use Chrome and all the ads are in place there as well.

Just white boxes showing up for everything but tigerdirect ads on IE10, same as the SS I sent ya.

I see no ads right now on my ipad 3 running the stock safari browser.
Never mind, ads are now showing up.

Hadn't happened for a while, but when I clicked on this thread I got a white rectangle instead of an ad.

Playing around with the IE debugger, the iframe content is:
<html>
<HEAD></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY>
</html>

Hitting f5 brought the TigerDirect ad back again. If there's anything else to look for the next time I see it let me know.

Seems to work fine on Chrome (version 27) and Firefox (version 21) but not for IE10 yet.

I am getting ads on some pages and sometimes if I refresh the page.
iPad 3.

I have not been able to replicate any of this........

Well, I know why the iPad doesn't show ads all the times, some of the ads are Shockwave/Flash files.

I noticed lately there's no ad at the top of the page, but it's sporatic and doesn't happen often. No ad block software. I think it usually happens on my phone though so it's probably flash related.

I'm seeing the same thing. I just opened up the new MSI N760 article via the Google+ post link and was greeted by missing picture boxes on the right and left.

Reloading the page made the pictures appear. They were AMD ads that linked to www.amd.com/levelup

Chrome Version 27.0.1453.116 m

No Ad block.

This is actually a non-related issue, but rather a fubar in coding on our part. It will be fixed ASAP.

The ads showing up white in IE seems to be MS and Google pissing match.

Google AdSense
As many bloggers have noticed recently with the release of Microsoft&#8217;s Internet Explorer 10, Google AdSense ads are no longer showing in the browser. By default IE10 blocks AdSense ads. While this is great for end users, it isn&#8217;t so great for bloggers who rely on some ads to pay for hosting feeds, etc. While IE10 doesn&#8217;t hold a significant market share yet, it will only keep going up. And with some blogs, even a 2% market share is a lot money.

You can read more about IE10&#8242;s &#8220;Do Not Track&#8221; settings here: http://www.hasoffers.com/blog/microsoft-attacks-google-do-not-track/

The only workarounds we have seen so far were already posted by sMarty here: http://redirectscripts.com/miscellaneous/google-ads-not-displayed-ie-10-browser.html

One involves changing the meta content tag back to IE7. This will however render our site differently and for most this won&#8217;t work very good. He also shares another jQuery and PHP solution.

Neither of these work very great and so most bloggers are left wondering if they should simply ditch Google AdSense temporarily and switch to BuySellAds or other third party&#8217;s until this issue has been resolved.
