7680x1440 and 7680x1600 Roll Call - What are you running?

3X HP ZR30W here.. currently with Tri 4GB 680's.. just preordered two Titans.. we will see.. probably be roughly the same performance.. trying to justify another Titan.

I'm trying to sell consoles I don't play and my current video card setup to fund a 4-way Titan build. If it takes me long to grab more cash I may just be upgrading when next gen rolls around.

You must be under water then? My cards use up 3 lanes on air, ive had the Asue RE4,Asrock Champion but still couldnt get 3way to run BF3 now im on a BigBang ii, best board ive ever had but cant run 1-4-7 lanes for 3way so down to 2 cards, lets hope the Titan is a much improved card for the Res, ill be getting 2 soon as i see some proof :)

Reporting in:

3 x 680 (2gb)

4 x 7970 (3GB)

Right now, the 680's are running 5760 x 1080 monitors and the 7970's are running 7680x1440 catleaps. I have used the 680's on the catleaps and really had no issues with Vram other than a few games that pushed over available memory. However, it really depends on the game....results vary widely.
I agree that if you were going to invest, wait for the next gen card...unless you want to run at least 3 cards...minimum.

How do the 7970's run on your catleaps, i have 3 catleaps but back on 680's now was thinking about 3x 7970's again but wasnt sure if they would just give me problems with BF3? Thanks

Awesome rig, those 1600p monitors must be amazing in eyefinity! Plus 4 Gpus, wow!:D

I'd like to see this too... along with Tri and Quad-Fire 7970's. I'm running a single Dell U3011 at the moment, and I actually like it a lot better than my previous 3x1080p 23's except in racing sims... Loved and miss Eyefinity for that. That said, I just can't go back to the smaller monitors, so I'm considering adding 2 more 30"s just for racing.

From that 4-way Titan review that was just posted, you are better off with 3 Titans.

I'm on 3 HP ZR-30W's. I've been using 3 480's for years now waiting on a true Nvidia card to go with. The 680 and its 256 bit bus being a major let down which caused me to hold on to my money and wait on a 384 bit bus. Thought about AMD, but too many horror stories of CFX Eyefinity. Thankfully I had a good bit set aside for this, as 3.5k for new GPU's and waterblocks is crazy. But its my hobby and I'm going ahead with it. Titans will be here Tuesday and Wednesday, and the waterblocks shipped Friday and should arrive very close to that time frame. Only thing missing is the Terminal block from EK, who released their waterblock before releasing their new SLI/CFX connector. Pretty inconsiderate of them to do that. Might just use the plain old linkages I have on my 480's.

Just because 4-way SLI doesn't always yield an improvement in less demanding games at 3x 1080p doesn't mean that the same story applies when you increase the resolution by 78%. Even at 6.2MP more demanding titles that support 4-way SLI make use of it.

At 11MP+, I would say that you will usually have a better gaming experience with 4-way SLI than 3-way SLI given equivalent cards.

I'm running in 7680x1440(8080x1440 BC) and the 2x6990s I used before didn't cut it in the majority of games.

2 7990s do much better. Only Crysis 3 so far I consider not playable but then at the moment the game hovers at ~50% GPU usage on each of the 4 GPUs.

You can forget about using 4x AA is most of the games still.(with 3GB 7970s at least)

Well running 2x7970's at 1105/1400 makes games playable at 7680x1600. I'm still playing with the overclocks and seeing what's stable. So far so good. Rig in sig.

Anyone find anything about 3-4 Titans at 7680x1600? Curious how much of a benefit it would be.

Of course... I should probably just wait for the next round of GPUs to show up now....

FWIW at 7680x1440 my score in Heaven 3.0 went from 30 to 60 fps (4x Titans vs 4x GTX 670 4GB SC). In games, performance basically went from poor to excellent. I actually play now. For example Tomb Raider is steady 60 fps most of the time, maxed out with FXAA.

Lets revive this thread, looking for the cheapest solution to run my 7680x1440 resolution. I have seen some 670's doing it and it looked good, but im afraid anything with 3GB will run out of vram.

GTX670 4GB. You'll want three. For now, at least.

What do you want to know specifically. I ran 4680x2560 (3x1440) for awhile with 4 titans. Now I run 7920x2560 (5x1) with the same rig. I was going to buy 3x4k but the resolution is in the same ballpark and you get more screen space. Plus I didn't want those displays to go to waste. Oh and the refresh rate limitation on 4k screens. Not worth it IMO.

With a healthy overclock on the machine I have no problem maxing games at 60fps. Atleast today's games. I currently play ffxiv and it's problem laden due to nvidias busted surround drivers but I still get 60 w Vsync, 80-120 w/out.

Wow, same thing. And VRAM FTR is @ a smudge over 3gb with 3x1, haven't checked it since I got the last 2 displays (just got them courtesy of last weeks tax refund) but as I post this I'm now curious.

Off I go!

7680x1600 plus two 24 inch 1080 touch screens. Running two gtx680 2gb [email protected]. Setup is used for X-Plane 10 and DCS A10. Getting around 40fps. I really need an extra 680 but then I also need another motherboard and an 8 expansionslot case. Plan on getting 3x880's together with a new built this fall.
