Dad Builds Son a Spaceship Simulator

Awesome dad is awesome. Most parents nowadays just plop an iPad in a child's lap and call it good.

Let's be real here. That kid is like 1 year old. This nerd built it for himself and doesn't want to look crazy :)

Screw you dads who have stuff like time and money and... ambition...

Making all us other dads look bad...

*sigh*..damnit..now I know what my summer is going to be spent doing.

thats a weird looking photo of the kid and dad. presumably the dad is sitting in the chair, and the kid..

yea...

and the cockpit design, uhhh.. is this supposed to be a soviet era mad max beyond thunderdome cockpit simulator? looks like crap to me.

The whole thing tops off with a stellar paint job, making the cockpit look like the sort of aged rust bucket in which a space veteran would feel most at home.

I take it that classic space sim games use to have rusty cockpits?

Exactly.

Now wait until the kid is like 4 load that thing full of MRE's and convince him its real and he has to go to space then lock him in it for a month to see the psychological effects on a 4 year old thinking he is stuck in space.

Let's hope this is true. Otherwise the first 15 years of this kids fife is going to be great while he's spoiled followed by 60 years of life being a drag.

Um, you dont have kids do you? that is a photo of the kid only. His little melon is turned towards the console.

As others have figured out, no way this is for the little guy. Now if it was decked out with toys and colors, then i could see it, but no way this works for a child that young.
Good cover though.

Degenerate projection of your inner desire , followed by a disgruntled cynical remark centered around your inability to find even the slightest satisfaction in another person's joy, a child no less.

Dad: We're pass through their magnetic field. Set your shields do Double Front!
Son: I need go poo poo.

--cosmic fail--

Watch out, someone halfass paid attention in high school psychology.

What are you smoking? I have raised children (from my last relationship) and my little nephew was just over earlier today and we spent a solid hour wrestling..He is 2, and that picture is NOT of the child's body with the head looking in a different direction..It's impossible unless that kid's head is cut off..

It's just the kid. Look at the scale of the seats...you guys honestly think that's the top of a full-grown man's head? Where's the rest of his body, arms, etc?

The kid just has his head tilted up/back pretty far.

First off, in your case or the person who replied to you, I don't know how having experience and/or raising kids aids your ability to discern the difference between an adult's and child's head.

Secondly, look at the trailer that houses the cockpit for a scale reference:

And the space in front of the chair:

The dad would have to be the same size as that kid to be able to sit in the chair that close the wall and not have any other part of his body showing.

Finally, here's another picture of the back of the kid's head:

That being said, I think it's cool that the dad is trying to get his kid interested in space/science. We need more parents like him.

Get real! Everyone knows the best spaceship simulator is a cardboard box you can fit your body in. Do it the Calvin and Hobbes way and use your imagination.

It most certainly is.

All that money wasted building a space ship could have gone to feed the hungry.

What? C'mon some of you guys say that about NASA. :-P

Seriously? Its so obviously the childs head that you arguing really is pretty ridiculous. I mean really how can you have raised children and not recognize that A) thats the hair of a young child and B) the size of that head is and where it is in that picture makers it impossible to be the parents unless his dad is a fucking midget... Its funny how its crystal clear to everyone but you. As someone who has children its pretty clear your claim of raising children "In your last relationship"? (WTF is that even supposed to mean???) is absolutely bullshit.

First of all, I NEVER said it wasn't a child's head, just that it seemed impossible for his head to be at that angle based on the way he is leaning over..I actually thought it was TWO children to be honest, since it does indeed look like a child's hair..

I didn't realize you could blow the picture up, since I was looking at it on my phone, nor did I see the other pictures of the child(with the same outfit and hair clearly visible) or I wouldn't have made the claim I did..I referenced my nephew since the child in the single picture I saw appeared to be the same size..

I love the way you infer that I would make up a complete lie just to justify my experience with children..I raised my EX's daughter from 2 months old until she was 5 and a half..I also raised her son (whom I was told was mine) from birth until he was 18 months old, only to get bitch slapped by life when a court ordered DNA test showed he was not my child..There are quite a few people here that know the story and all the shit my EX pulled on me..
