Wii Us in stock right now at Target Online

i had the possibilities of buying one numerous time. They arent that rare.

I need to see more games before I will consider buying one. Neat controller though.

They're in stock all over the place. The Gamestop and Walmart here (possibly Target as well, haven't been in there since before the system's launch) have both normal and Deluxe units. Gamestop's online store has been advertising them as in-stock since launch.

The Walmart by me had a whole display of them since launch, even after Black Friday.

I really don't get time to game that much, but one of my friend has one, and I can say that I was pretty damn impressed by the use of the controller. I Could go as far as saying blown away, if I was still in my early twenties, I might have grabbed it, lol..I am 29 now, too damn old.

I thought it was weird to see these in stock all over the place. Guess its normal, definitely not the same as the original Wii launch

Sold out everywhere near me. Stock is def not everywhere. Thanks OP bought one.

As other's have said I could have easily gotten one whenever I wanted. I don't see the need to though as these aren't a "next" gen console even Nintendo has stated that.

Some dev's are even being quoted as saying these aren't good systems and they don't like programming for i already.

I'll pass till they come down to sub $200 range. Which shouldn't be that long specially since Sony and MS should announce new consoles by E3 2013.

I think I'd have to give one a full demo test before I would even consider one. I'll probably check out my local mall as it seems Nintendo has a booth set up there this time of year for all their platforms.

I don't know if it's just me, but this thing is just simply big and ugly af...

Huh, I thought this console was supposed to be a lot easier for 3rd party devs to program for.

In fact, I remember it being one of their listed pros.

Actually, they weren't difficult to get at launch. I guess people assumed that they were tough to get so they didn't bother to try (I know, I was there for a midnight release). However, it wasn't long after launch that people started to go crazy for them. I'm actually tempted to pick up a Wii U and see if demand spikes as Christmas approaches, if not I can return it.

I don't know about that it might blow our pants off with specs, but it has more powerful hardware inside than the current ps3 and xbos 360 so it is pretty decent in that regard. I already see alot more games coming out for it, wii was a total disappointment in regards to feature, this seems like nintendo is finally heading in the right direction.

My suspicions are slowly getting confirmed that the Wii U is dead on arrival. Once the newrelease hype dies down it'll become more evident. Original Wii sold big just because of the new Nintendo factor and motion control gimmick and because it was at a different point on the timeline of videogame consoles where sell-through was apparently easier than it is now. And then you've got that group that can only afford one new next-gen console and they know the PS4/Xbox720 are coming next year so they're holding off.

Based on everything I've read the bigger name devs seem to be strangely avoiding it for their AAA titles. There was a lot of early talk of "oh yeah the big controller will be fun to code for" but not much follow through when perusing the platform list for some of the bigger 2013 game releases - the Wii U is strangely absent.

They just need a good hit game to sell the console. Theres nothing out thats really a system seller yet.

That's just the Basic version though. Anyone who actually wants one would spend the extra $50 for the Deluxe.

i reserved one at wal mart and am yet to pick it up.. ive got till dec 14th.. put $50 down.. but all the stores here have them everywhere so i may cancel my deal and just wait a little to get one, i was worried I may not be able to get my hands on one but doesnt looks to be an issue atm.

This is probably where the only demand comes from, I have heard of lots of guys who bought up every wii u they could, ran around to stores etc... Now they have a bunch and they are thinking about just returning them for a refund.

So far as I have seen everywhere the regular wii is not even wanted, the deluxe version is the only one that is limited, and that depends on your area, not limited here.

I'm hoping somewhere in the lifespan of the Wii U that Nintendo realizes for their next console that most true gamers really want a normal controller, and just some kickass fun games that will sell the console and not some weird *new hype* controller gimmicks.

they are in decent stock everywhere near me. if it were not for being the holidays then I think stores would have too much stock as it appears most people are not impressed.

many of the games can be had for much cheaper on other platforms that people already own. plus nearly ever review of the games they offer has shown technical issues and performance worse than 360 or ps3. I just dont think its going to catch on like the first Wii or any other Nintendo console.

they have a "pro" controller that looks almost identical to a 360 pad.

The PC demographic doesn't seem too into Nintendo, the responses here shows it too, but I am enjoying mine.

nice theory but I have a 360, PS3 and Gamecube and the Wii U is not the least bit interesting. I already own nearly any game they offer that I am interested in so why pay 60 bucks for it again. and again they have too many bugs in the games that I would ever consider anyway.

I would be into Nintendo if there were games I want to play. Right now there is exactly one WiiU game I want to play, ZombiU. 1 game isn't enough for me to spend that kind of money on a console. Nintendo 1st party games have also done a drastic drop lately. Skyward Sword was a terrible Zelda title and the whole New Super Mario Bros concept was done and over with after the first one and I don't like Mario Kart or Smash Bros so that pretty much cuts out four big Nintendo franchises for me. The controller seems to work fairly well, but without software to take advantage of it it's fairly useless. Most of the games on the consoles are ports of games I've either already played or don't care about and they're, for the most part, worse versions of those games.

Say what you will, but I'm enjoying the hell out of Mario U. Its the hardest Mario I've played and I haven't had this much fun with a mario game since Super Mario World. Made the battery run out on the gamepad from playing in bed last night.

And ZombieU is awesome, yes. Very tense, a lot more than I expected, but very enjoyable the entire time.

for the record, devs always say that. I agree, i dont see this being a $300 console when it doesnt pass PS3/xbox 360 in features or graphics. I find the PS3 so tempting because its my favorite home media center piece. blu-ray drive, streaming, etc.

See that's where I hate this system, that controller is all kinds of ugly and bulky.

Feels comfortable actually, the Wii U is a great casual gamer console. I love playing SMB and fucking with people on the touch controller, lots of laughs.

Nintendo won't get me again with their gimmicky controllers. Loved the Wii for 3 months (Wii Sports) and loved Wii Fitness for another 3 months, but beyond that the gimmicky controller was more of a pain to work with and I usually just plugged in a classic controller for the three or four other games I tried. All in all lack of AAA games have put my Wii in a box for the last couple of years. I'm thinking the Wii U could doom Nintendo the way the Dreamcast doomed Sega, but Sega also made several blunders leading up the Dreamcast (Sega CD, Sega Saturn, etc.) and Nintendo has assloads of cash right now that they can absorb the hit if the Wii U tanks. But, I think this could be the beginning of Nintendo's demise.

My 6 year old still loves her Wii from last Christmas. Plays it a couple time a week and I usually play it with her for a couple hours on the weekend. I'm more of a casual gamer, so I could care less about all the AAA games, especially when most of them are FPS, Racing, Sports, etc. Plus, for all the flack people give Nintendo about their controllers as being "gimmicky", they work great for my kids, even my 3 year old is picking it up an starting to play some Sesame Street and Reader Rabbit games. My 6 year old has yet to be able to get a XBOX-like controller down when playing games on her computer.

For us, the Wii U was tempting, but I can't justify another game console in the house and my daughter is spoiled with the modded Wii... Once the Wii U has been "homebrewed" and I can access all my games from an external hard drive and not mess with disks.. I may pick one up. A big draw would be the ability to play the Wii without taking up the TV, something my wife hates.

Nintendo is lazy lazy lazy. I mean, it's 2012, almost 2013. It took them this long to get HD graphics? LOL. Every Nintendo console is just the same console with the same 5 or 6 games. Mario bros, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Tennis... etc. And by rehashed, i mean rehashed, Mario Kart is almost the exact same game every time. 90% of the courses are reused from previous versions. The craziest game i have ever seen released on any system at anytime was Mike Tyson punchout for the Wii. It was the exact same game as the NES version plus 3 or 4 new boxers. And people not only bought it, but gave it good reviews. I played it and was like, "Are you fucking kidding me? I played this game for the NES when i was 7."

Don't you mean 'IS'? Cause it does do that.
Went to sleep last night playing Mario U on the gamepad. The gamepad is awesome, very comfortable and the perfect weight. It's feature packed and ergonomic. I love how it feels, its a great controller.

Yeah... just meant that it is a desired feature for me and a reason I'm thinking about the Wii U :) There's a good chance I'll pick one up sometime next year. Having two small girls in the house there just isn't much of a desire for the XBOX or Playstation over the Wii titles. That is one area that I feel Microsoft and Sony seem to really fall down on is the non-violent, kid-oriented games. Nintendo seems to do a better job (IMO) with family-oriented and games for younger children.

I think people are beginning to realize that consoles suck.

Computers (laptops/desktops), tablets, and phones that everyone already owns are already existing great platforms to game on, so why buy another redundant device?

Man I don't understand that hate. Wii U is not for me, but I bet you this that in a family environment the kids will love this, absolutely love it..., my buddy has it and you guys have no idea how some games are implanting the use of the controller, given its not for me, but don't just hate if you have never tried it. I just don't game that much in general, I might give it a shot if I had kids, because I know for a fact that they will absolutely love the hell out of it.

My kid love the hell out of the Wii, however for $300 I don't see us gaining much with a switch to a Wii U. With the low specs and high price, I don't see the Wii U getting good market penetration until the first price drop. I think the concept is great though.

The Wii U could be very similar to the 3DS which also launched priced a bit too high and started doing much better after the price drop.
