I am Vanu on Connery, was attacking a blue team lab last night when red team decided to hit us from the side. Red took the lab and we ended up right where we were at the beginning assaulting the lab lol.

Edit: I went online and not many people are happy with what they have done to the Lasher, it really does need a buff in a couple areas.

I will start a character on Connery tonight.

The more I play this game the more my interest falls. It was fun and interesting at first, but trying to figure where to go for action and how everything works just gets frustrating.

Also frustrating getting my butt kicked too.

thats how i felt when i played the beta. now that i am playing with people and have a better understanding it helps a lot. ill PM you the vent info and we can play tonight!

maybe some dota too ! :D

We really don't need more NC on connery. The population is often during peak times

I would be interested. I am currently TR on Genudine, but I would prefer to play with a group.

EDIT: I don't suppose there's a way to transfer characters to a new server....

If anyone wants to add my Steam : Kovy 2012. I haven't played a game this much since middle school so I'm usually online later in the day.

I'm not fully decided on faction yet. My plan is to try out each one for 1 week before I pledge my allegiance. My first week of VS was a ton of fun, and I look forward to the same trying out the NC side next. It was actually a little bit hard to not shoot any NC in the back last night. Every time I saw the NC drop pod I had to keep reminding myself not to shoot. But so far what I've noticed...

VS : Amazing mobility - especially the LA with adrenaline boost. Minimal recoil makes aiming easy, but the weapons are weak from distance.
NC : They feel slower, but they hit hard. The few infantry I killed went down quicker. I'm curious to see infiltrator will be easier with the weapon damage not dropping off over distance. I'll find out later.
TR : Will find out next week.

I'm sorry, but that just isn't true. They fly perfectly fine with joysticks. As I've stated before you have to tweak the vehicle mouse sensitivity settings and the joystick sensitivity settings. The vehicle mouse sensitivity settings are attached to the joystick sensitivity reasons for some stupid reason, and it acts like a multiplier for joystick sensitivity option.

I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro on a daily basis and everything but the throttle works really well.

My personal opinion though, if you use just a joystick, make sure and use the keyboard for throttle and hover controls. Only if you have a HOTAS setup (separate throttle controller) should you not use the keyboard. The ergonomics of a joystick with a throttle on its base (right next to the stick) is all fucked up and can slow your reaction times.

I will try and make a post here later tonight on my joystick setup.

Edit: You will know I am nearby when you see someone firing balls of slow moving energy all over the place.

I would like to see what you have done to make the 3D Pro work well. It is fine in the galaxy, but with the mosquito, you twitch your finger and do a 180. The sensitivity is incredibly high. Let me know what you did.

The factions have similar populations. If you have played NC you'll know that most of their guns have an insane cone of fire while having long reload times and barely doing any more damage than the other faction's weapons. A foregrip and compensator are pretty much required on all NC guns so NC players have to pay 200 certs per weapon just to get on even ground with the other factions. The devs have said that they are looking at the NC guns because of this inbalance.
 
So when i buy upgrades, how do I equip them? I bought an extra rocket to carry but I'm still only carrying 5..

edit your loadouts, most are passive though and should just work automatically.


i know i had to equip something to make my sunderer a spawn point

Vanu was stomping us so hard. like 400 of them outside our spawn. brutal.

I found a group of organized players and in the spawn of a few hours we galaxy hopped around and captured most of the map

SO much fun.

I picked up the forward grip and silencer for my medic.. Helps a ton. Silencer is just neato.

i heard forward grip is definitely worth it.

i picked up a bunch of stuff for my heavy assault i got the minigun chain gun thing which is bad ass. we were also getting air fucked so i got a lock on to air rpg.

i also got the SABRE for my combat medit with a red dot so now i have the NS-11A for close range with a red dot and my SABRE with a red dot for long range. which is rape its 2x burst and just mobs people

100% true. The VS weapons especially are just...easy to use. Very little kickback outside the heavy infantry guns. The COF is TIGHT with the barrel and grips.

BUT...they don't pack the same punch, all things being equal. Not by much, but it's there.

I want to be able to fly with my joystick like I do in flight sims. Not have to use the keyboard to yaw. Same problem with the throttle on my stick, I can't assign it as an analog throttle.

Without further ado, here is how you setup a joystick to fly the Mosquito/Reaver/Scythe in this game. The default sensitivity options are through the roof, making it difficult.


Please Note: I am using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick. All settings here are what I use. I am doing flight controls only, since people will have a different preference on the keybindings for other controls.
You don't have to use my exact settings, but these are a good place to start.



Settings-> General Tab
-Flight Vehicle Sensitivity = 0.10 raise or lower based on your preference. I suggest 0.05 - 0.10. The movements start to get REAL SLUGGISH below this, so there seems to be a real narrow field of usability. 0.10 is still pretty high, but I use it to be able to snap my turns real quickly and have adjusted my movements to deal. This one is key, it acts like a multiplier to the "Joystick Sensitivity" setting. Since it is like a multiplier, the sensitivity adjusts almost exponentially, every notch is a huge jump. It also affects how sensitive the mouse is for flight controls, not turret or freelook controls. If you plan on flying with a mouse instead, adjust this to how you want the mouse to feel for flight. This setting works much better for mice, but is completely counter-intuitive for joystick users.
-Joystick Sensitivity = 1.00
-Joystick Deadzone = 0.20

Keybindings
-Throttle Up/Down = Joystick throttle slider
I DON'T USE ANALOG THROTTLE SETTING
-Ascend/Descend = buttons on base of joystick
-Roll Left/Right = Joystick X-axis
-Pitch Up/Down = Joystick Y-axis
-Yaw Left/Right = Joystick twist axis

Also, I do not use the throttle or hover controls on my joystick, I use the keyboard. The reason is I don't like cramming my hands so close together. I leave the throttle slider stuck at 50% and mark that exact spot with a piece of electrical tape.

Thanks, super excited to try these. Whenever I try to fly with the default settings, I crash into a tree/mountain/teammate. Maybe this will help.

I wish i had a joystick... flying is really fuckin hard in this game and I suck miserably at it... however, crashing in silly ways does give me a good laugh =P
 
I think they are going to need to do some population balancing, the population on Connery is:
Commies:37%
Smurfs: 35%
Barneys: 28%

idk what any of those mean but i hope TR is smurfs cause i want to be small and colorful
