Bing Challenges Nation to 'Bing It On'

I consider myself a non-aggressive person, I can't even hurt flies... but whenever I hear that "bing" sound in their commercials I want to rip the vocalist's throat then kick them down a flight of stairs

...so, I guess google wins

+1 With lots more violence.

The name is irritating, the name of this "contest" is irritating. If it didn't have such an annoying name and annoying ad campaign I'd be more likely to use it...(well..after it became better).

Google won all five for me.

One of which was "do a barrel roll", lol. Pretty easy to see which one was Google there.

So bing loses on all counts because the page doesn't even work... but I did see this weird mistake:

awesome Microsoft prizes, including a Microsoft Surface, Windows 8, an Xbox 360 with Kinect for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE...

Yeah, I don't think they understand what the word "awesome" means. Unless they just listed the joke prizes and theres some actual awesome stuff up for grabs? :D

Eh, everything Google makes is in perpetual beta as well.

Skribbels are sick of all this beta-ness. Betas are some of the most angry, ugly little fishies out there. We need less software in the same state as those lunatic murderers and more stuff that's like a goldfish and is in a good enough state to be considered finished and has gone "gold." Or maybe gone to plaid on top of spaghetti, all covered in cheese.

So, bleah at Microsoft and Google for being like an angry fishy. They should be more like Ubisoft and Bethesda by only providing a product that is goldfish worthy.

GHOLA said he lied about the search engine. Yes, he mentioned the craigslist result, but the main issue I saw (and was referring to when saying "I agree with LeninGHOLA"), was calling something worthless, crap, etc.
That was his opinion of the search results, as a direct consequence of having the Craigslist result appearing in the results for the search terms he used. Reference the post again:
Google went 5-0 against Bing. What a load of crap Bing is. With my searches it was bringing up worthless shit from craigslist of all places. I didn't ask to buy a Droid RAZR you dumbass search engine.
You can deflect and backpedal all you'd like, but you can't change reality. You can't change opinions to facts or vice versa. No amount of unabashed, subservient love for your employer is going to change that. So why the hell do you bother?

Last I checked choice of search engine is based on preference. So how is my OPINION baseless? Isn't that the point of this whole "bingiton" campaign? Try to get users to change their primary search engine?
I have no idea what the point of the campaign is.

However, your comment that it is "worthless" is baseless, when you have already pointed out "a draw" on second look. That's what makes your comment that it's "worthless" a lie. Something can't be worthless and also the same as the "okay" alternative in some cases. Worthless would be without value, and that's what you claimed.

Google 5, Bing 0. Bing only provided decent results on one test, borderline acceptable on another, and crap on the last 3. Worthless might be an exaggeration, but based on those 5 searches I feel quite comfortable saying that Bing pretty much sucks. I can't imagine that I'd waste my time with it if I were actually trying to find something.

What were your 5 searches? I'm starting to get genuinely curious what people consider good and crap results, and how people are searching.

The fact that this thread is five pages long shows that this " bing it on " campaign by Microsoft is working. At the same time, they are most likely gathering lots of data on subjects people are searching for. Even if they are as stupid as some of the things searched for in this thread. Besides, I want to see Bing continue to gain ground on Google. I'm waiting to see what Google will sue Microsoft over if Bing does become a threat :p.

I can almost promise you that the majority posting here didn't even participate. Hardforum is more Bing/IE than Apple biased, and that's saying something! :D

3 to 2 in favor of google..

Idaho wild pig hunt Google
vapology Bing
ninja 300 Bing
ssd deals Google
x fest 2012 Google

saints players reinstated....Google
1968 camaro big block.....bing
striper eel rigs........bing
xacto #11 blades.......bing
ottoman empire.....draw

Like many have noted, google is better for technical items, but I'm surprised how well bing did for the list above

And just one thought I had from reading the thread...

"dumbass search engine" knows more than you. But that's a bit off-topic, I suppose.

FWIW, I use Bing.com as my default home page because I like to see their front page but if I type a term in the address bar, it uses Google.

For me, it was 3-2 Bing, but looking back, I should've made one of Bing's wins a draw b/c Google had better links when I searched my name, but they pissed me off when they showed women's pics. :p

I hate it when Google acknowledges there is another gender besides the male one too. Who on Earth do they think they are?! The nerve of them! The NERVE!!!!
