I bought one a month or so back at that price on newegg for my PS3.

First one had a dent in the top from manufacturer. Had to RMA it. Was easy enough just warning others to check these out like immediately out of the box.

Did have a semi-relative replace his old scorpio with one of these at the same time and his arrived in good shape. Maybe just my luck.

OMG that is so smart! Please tell us about it, does it feel noticeably faster than a stock hard drive? I don't have a PS3 or anything but this is interesting.

Debating whether I should RAID 0 these or not.
After 5 seagate dying on me, I'm not sure if I can deal with another data loss. Although I do have a separate 1TB WD external to back up.

i dunno you can get WDC Caviar black 750gb 7200 for $30 more....not a hybrid but definately more reliable

Heres a shootout with a original HDD, Momentus XT, and SSD drives on a PS3. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-can-ssd-upgrades-boost-ps3-performance

It works pretty fast after playing the same thing a few times. While the drive was going through the RMA process I caught a 128gb SSD on sale for $70 and snagged it up. Comparing the two I like the SSD much more. Although Need for Speed Undercover which performs terrible on PS3 (or PC for that matter) with original HDD actually performs even worse with SSD!!

Playing something like Midnight Club LA Complete it works very fast.

Recently paused with the PS3 as I'm playing alot of Saints Row The Third on PC.
