Rockstar has a great way of dealing with cheaters! Don't ban them, just make it so cheaters can only play against other cheaters. Hah! That is hilarious. :D

Rockstar's approach to cheaters in Max Payne 3 isn't "get rid of them" so much as it is "humiliate, punish and get rid of them, those lousy scoundrels." Any player confirmed to be using hacked saves, modded games, leaderboard circumvention tactics or other exploits in Max Payne 3's multiplayer will be ceremoniously quarantined in the "Cheaters Pool."

Very good outside the box solution.

Wonder if they know they are in the cheater pool...

I would LOVE to read the chat in server, everyone calling everyone else a cheater, everyone denying it. lol

I wish every game would do just that. Relegate the cheaters to cheater servers and not say a word to them. Then let them rage around all they want with their own kind.

AKA games that folks want to play as intended with no cheats/mods/hacks and folks that want to play in those servers, and another segment for the cheats/modders/hackers group to explore in.

Playing legit with a cheater makes some games un-fun real quickly to even remotely attempt to compete in. Especially games with economies in them, that trashes em quickly when both types are mixed in.

Alot of players like to mod / hack games, so having both options separated is a good idea, if the separation really holds true and they don't mix ever.

I don't understand the "hacked saves" part. Wouldn't this only apply to MP really?

If only they could apply this to other games like BF3 where people use hacks that are untraceable and inject code client side. There was a cheater on reddit that came forward, explained everything he did, and how it works. He estimated that there is at least one cheater in every match you're in.

so you would rather have hackers be able to play instead of just straight up banned

I'm indifferent as long as they're not cheating in my games. I think making them play against only each other is like putting them in cheating purgatory, and hilarious at the same time.

It'd be even hilarious if they spoofed their favorite servers, so when they joined a favorite server it'd send them to a cheater server with similar settings, with a spoofed name to match their favorite.

If I understood this correctly, then it would mean that those cheaters would not play with any of their friends that play legitimately on the actual servers.

*Insert Forever Alone meme here*

It's a good solution. I hate cheaters and I despise them so much in every game I play and have played.

Let the scums of gaming play with other scums, and don't bother other players or degrade their gameplay.

Those servers would be ghost-towns because anyone who cheats is only interested in one-upping everyone else.

If you're not cheating you're not trying hard enough. Think Decepticons, United States Gov, Wall-Street, etc...I rest my case.

Used to play in CS hacking vs hacking servers and it actually would get intense as hacks would become more and more complex. I remember when autowall came out (automatically shoots through walls that bullets can go through) that was a game changer right there haha. Its actually quite fun because now its a competition between who can use the hacks better.

Gotta say thats a pretty good move on their side.

I think people should be able to cheat with other cheaters, it can be fun. I remember playing Halo on a hacked xbox on a LAN game, and screwing with the gravity, making it so grenades would just bounce off walls until they hit someone, a spiderman mod to walk on the ceiling, etc. It was fun since it affected everyone the same...

I realize modding and cheating are different, but they're similar in a lot of ways. As long as it's a level playing field, you should be able to do whatever you want.

I can't wait for the youtube videos.
It would have been so much better if they never told anyone about this until after collecting a bunch of video of the cheaters going into a rage the moment they found out every one in the server was cheating as well.

Cant wait to circumvent this or have it affect players not cheating. We know PunkBuster works soooo well.

Could be a breeding grounds for people to learn how to cheat. But if that doesn't happen, then yeah, sounds like a great idea.

Steam pretty much does this already with VAC. People who are vac banned can play on non-vac servers.

And pretty much all non-VAC servers, are either pirate servers where a select few are allowed to cheat by the admins, or servers that are a cheating free for all.

Need this for BF3

Amen. I hate getting shot with a .45 and dying. Only to see the guy that did it on the other side of the map. Yea, not happening without cheats.

Great game when playing with [H], people, though. I enjoyed the hell out of that when it was just GenMay'ers having fun. Not too popular anymore, though...

Some times the simplest ideas are the best. Let all the cheaters, get cheated by other cheaters. That's excellent !!! :D

Capcom has been doing this with all their new games from Street Fighter IV on. It really does seem to cut down the disconnecters and I'm not sure I can remember actually seeing a cheater.

Capcom is still in business?! They had to have been bought by some other company who's just using the name and the rotting leftovers of the company for brand recognition.
