GTX 680 In Stock Thread

What amazes me is that people still buy things from them even when there's a no return policy or a 15% restocking fee policy for DOA items. I don't expect to make any additional NewEgg orders this year since Amazon generally matches NewEgg's prices and are more consumer friendly. Prime helps.

I can see why they do charge them, for reasons we are outlining here. They could be taken advantage of without the policy.

Often, I spend more locally at Fry's, Micro Center, or Best Buy because they don't charge a restocking fee. Security is worth a lot to me.

So true. As I mentioned earlier in this thread my woes with NewEgg trying to get my 680 purchase processed.. In the future I will not be using NewEgg unless there is substantial cost advantages.

There's a couple of ASUS cards in stock at my local NCIX for $599.

The EVGA cards that I pre-ordered with $499, but some people have told me that they have been waiting for over a month. I also know that there is a huge back order. I really don't know if I want to spend the extra $200 (I bought two) to get it now, or if I should wait.

Not worth it IMO, but it's up to your budget vs. immediate need.

EVGA Signatures in stock at the egg. Just got mine ordered FINALLY. Only took 6-7 weeks to get a hold of one :p

i wouldnt buy it for 599. just cancel ur preorder when you see other 509 ones avail.

ANY conditions, even if the item is defective!

I didn't pay a restocking fee for returning my 7950 with NE.

You have to call customer service to not get the restock. Thy even took care of the charge for Dirt.

NE's customer service is why I buy from them. Even waiting on getting the 680 until NE had it.

What do you say when you call them to get them to not charge the fee?

They will not take returns on GTX 680 / 670 / 690. The return policy is VGA ONLY REPLACEMENT POLICY. Therefore it does not qualify for returns for refund. AFAIK the 7950 has 30 day standard policy, so you can return those for refund.

If you return for replacement and they're out of stock, which is likely to be the case, they'll refund you. It's happened to me with a 480 before.

The truth ;)

Depends, if defective then defective, if the product failed to meet my expectations due to shitty support then that. I haven't ever returned just because X is out or I ended up not wanting the product.

I always get a live person, not live chat.

For the free game coupons I just told the agent I didn't want that game and would have refused it or removed it from the cart when purchasing.

Well I got burned by newegg. I got a 680 ordered in, but after a day they tell me they don't have stock and getting refunded. Problem is it takes them 3 to 5 days to refund when it takes them hours to take your money. I think I may just pull out of the game of trying to buy a card in a 3min window. Cause its so fast that it trips up the inventory system.

This has gotten so bad I had to actually use a program to watch newegg for a card. When you have product that goes up for 3min every few days, its crazy hard to snatch a card. I'm after evga brand.

That issue has more to do with your bank than it does Newegg. Even if they processed the refund the same day it might take 3-5 business days for your bank to show it refunded back to your card. It's the same way with pre-authorizations when an order is canceled.

My Asus shows up today. Interested to see how my real world results are versus the 6970 x-fire setup i have at the moment.

Which Asus did you get? My TOP edition comes Wednesday and I wouldnt mind seeing how yours does if you can post some of your findings.

I went with the reference design since i'll be throwing a water block on it in the next week or so. I haven't been able to run any tests yet besides just playing a couple games. So far I can tell you the gameplay is alot smoother than my x-fire setup. This is my first geforce in about 7 years and I feel it was a great time to come back.

Damn i have been refresh spaming for two days and still have yet to get one. i got through checkout on one and then got an email ten mins later saying out of stock

3 day shipping to chicago would get there before tuesday? i live in ca but gf is in chicago so i can avoid $40 tax but shes flying here tues... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Probably but it would be cutting it close. Sometimes this late in the afternoon they may not go out until the next day, then it may be one day too late for you.
